QTS Data Centers is seeking a Project Manager II - DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) to be based at our Phoenix, AZ campus or one of our other larger data center campuses: Irving, TX, Ashburn/Richmond, VA or other growth sites. Quality Technology Services (QTS) is a leading provider of data center solutions across a diverse footprint spanning more than 9 million square feet of QTS Mega Data Centers throughout North America and Europe. We are expanding our corporate DCIM/Controls Engineering team as the company continues to scale.
The Project Manager II - DCIM effectively plans, manages, and delivers the internal DCIM projects on time and within budget. This entails facilitating communication between different team members (e.g. Facility Operations, Technical Operations, external integrator partners, etc), different stakeholders both internal and external to the organization, and ensuring adherence to existing company guidelines. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, experienced technical project manager who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, and can operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional matrixed environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES; other duties may be assigned.
  • Works with DCIM and Operations teams to complete technical discovery.

  • Applies project management expertise to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services

  • Collaborates with team managers and resources to identify project approach, deliverables, tasks and resources required to complete a project, specifically as it pertains to technical tasks and deliverables

  • Develops and actively manage project plans, identifying applicable phases, tasks, resources, deliverables and due dates using traditional project management practices.

  • Reviews proposed changes to project plans, including meeting with stakeholders to approve and implement beneficial changes.

  • Manages multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven environment and completes projects on time

  • Continuously monitors and reports on project status to Upper Management (including C-Levels), including issues, risks, and escalations.

  • Continually develops and improves internal processes and documentation within the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Project Management or other related field or equivalent professional experience.

  • Seven or more years of Project Management experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Experience building detailed technical project plans and task dependencies based on technical familiarity and stakeholder interviews.

  • Experience managing complex, strategic programs with multiple sub-projects/workstreams.

  • Experience managing projects with scope including SCADA, PLC, DCS, or other industrial control systems

  • US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced knowledge of data center/critical environment concepts, such as space, power, cooling and connectivity.

  • Advanced knowledge of technologies found within data center architecture, such as routers, switches, firewalls, server components, storage, and virtualization.

  • Experience with Project Management applications and visualization tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and Tableau

  • Experience in managing industrial control system platform migration and upgrade projects including Aveva System Platform and Rockwell Automation.

  • PMP certification
