Job description

Infleqtion is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This role is responsible for the engineering, administration, and ongoing expansion of our Microsoft Azure infrastructure while supporting our hybrid on‑premises and cloud environment.

Working closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will help design, implement, and maintain the cloud platform supporting our global business operations, engineering teams, and future cloud initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building and improving infrastructure, solving complex technical problems, and taking ownership of enterprise cloud systems with minimal supervision.

This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on infrastructure modernization, cloud migrations, hybrid identity, automation, and enterprise Windows Server administration. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic cloud initiatives while partnering with the IT Infrastructure Manager on architecture, security, and long‑term infrastructure planning.

This role provides the opportunity to work on a modern hybrid cloud environment supporting scientific research, engineering, and corporate business operations. As a member of a collaborative IT team, you'll play a key role in evolving our cloud platform and helping shape the future of our infrastructure.

Current and planned initiatives include:
  • Migrating on‑premises Windows Server infrastructure into Microsoft Azure
  • Expanding hybrid Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID services
  • Building scalable Azure infrastructure supporting engineering workloads
  • Supporting Azure SQL environments and future cloud data initiatives
  • Implementing Azure Batch compute environments for engineering simulations
  • Improving cloud networking, automation, monitoring, and disaster recovery
  • Supporting future cloud initiatives across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, administer, and maintain Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.
  • Manage Windows Server workloads hosted in Azure, including Domain Controllers, Remote Desktop Services, application servers, file services, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Administer hybrid Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 identity services.
  • Assist with migrating existing on‑premises infrastructure into Microsoft Azure.
  • Deploy and maintain Azure networking components including Virtual Networks, VPN Gateways, Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, Bastion, and Load Balancers.
  • Support Azure SQL Server deployments and future cloud data platform initiatives.
  • Assist with implementing Azure Batch and scalable compute resources supporting engineering workloads.
  • Monitor system health, availability, security, and performance while proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure Manager on cloud architecture, security improvements, disaster recovery, and infrastructure modernization projects.
  • Participate in future multi‑cloud initiatives involving AWS and Google Cloud Platform as business needs evolve.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational standards, and infrastructure diagrams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for complex infrastructure issues while partnering with the IT Service Desk to ensure operational excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104).
  • Four (4) or more years of experience administering Microsoft Azure infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 identity services.
  • Hands‑on experience deploying and administering Azure Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, VPNs, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, and related Azure services.
  • Working knowledge of Azure networking concepts including routing, VPNs, firewalls, and network security.
  • Experience migrating servers or applications into Microsoft Azure.
Preferred skills:
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Experience supporting Azure SQL Server environments.
  • Experience with Azure Batch or other high‑performance compute environments.
  • Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage or related Azure data services.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Bicep, ARM Templates, or Terraform.
  • Experience supporting AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Sentinel, or other enterprise security platforms.
