Salary: $92,164-$110,614

Position Summary:

Oversee the data and voice networks for Craig Hospital and collaboratively work with the Systems team to maintain overall infrastructure. This includes providing network management and security administration support to these networks. All of these efforts should focus on providing a stable, reliable, and cost-effective operating environment for the hospital's applications and databases in order for these systems to function in an optimal, efficient, and secure manner.

Position Requirements:

  • Licensure/Certification/Registrations:ย None
  • Education:ย Bachelors degree in computer related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:ย Fiveย (5) years or more of prior information technology experience.Five (5) years or more of prior network management experience. Support of Windows network operating systems, including AD, DNS, and policy management tools. Network cabling and infrastructure management. Firewall management. Wireless network management (preferred). Microsoft Exchange management (preferred). Citrix environment management (preferred). Four (4) years or more of prior Telecommunication technical support experience (preferred). Network certifications (preferred).
  • Skills & Abilities:ย Thorough understanding of TCP/IP network management and security administration, for both landline and wireless network environments. Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Windows network environments. Hands-on experience with network device management, preferably Cisco devices. Working knowledge of Firewall administration. ย Good understanding of telecommunications. Proven analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Commitment to quality and results. Strong customer-oriented people skills. Adequate verbal and writing skills. To maintain a stable, reliable, and secure network environment. To adequately document data and voice network infrastructures. To provide friendly and courteous customer-centered support. To work independently, organize time effectively, meet project timelines, coordinate and work with others. To manage multiple projects efficiently. To communicate well both orally and in writing. To provide friendly and courteous customer-centered support. To maintain good interpersonal relationships.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical expertise for all technical staff and technical projects within the IS Department. This includes being responsible for the management and support of all technical aspects of the hospital's data and voice infrastructure in support of all applications and databases.
  • Perform the planning, designing, documenting, purchasing, installation, configuration, and technical support of all hospital network infrastructure components for both data and voice networks, including cabling, electrical lines, devices, and software. This will require working with vendors to properly deploy and maintain products.
  • Configure and maintain the TCP/IP communication structure, DNS, and Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Monitor and maintain network security throughout the data and voice networks. Areas of focus include: firewall security, wireless security, encryption, virus security, web filtering, secure e-mail, remote access security, and security assessments.
  • Utilize monitoring activities that identify network performance levels and deploy solutions to optimize network performance.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco Unified Communications systems (CUCM, Unity Connection, Contact Center Express, Unified Attendant Console, IM & Presence, voice gateways, etc.)ย 
  • Configure and maintain the computer room and network infrastructure device closets/rooms throughout the hospital. This includes physical and environmental controls and security, UPS power management, KVM switches, etc.
  • Assist in the supervision of technical support provided by outside groups.
  • Assist in providing technical support to end-users.
  • Attend relevant training and conferences to maintain and improve technical knowledge.
  • Backup other department staff as needed.
  • Assist the ITย Infrastructure Managerย with project planning and annual budgeting.
  • Provide technical guidance and training as needed for Infrastructure or Service Desk staff.
  • Follows hospital infection control policies, including body substance isolation and proper hand hygiene before and after contact with patients, handling of food, and after hands are contaminated with any body fluids, secretions or excretions.

  • Maintain an industry knowledge base of current and developing technology, applications, systems, etc. through educational programs, industry publications, professional associations and other relevant informational sources.
  • As assigned by theย Infrastructure Managerย or the Director of IT.
  • Become familiar with and follow hospital-wide and department-specific policies and procedures; seeking assistance from management when clarification or assistance is needed.
  • Assisting other staff members as requested.
