What You'll Be Launching

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and secure Slingshot's global networking infrastructure. This role owns enterprise networking and network security functions across corporate and mission-critical environments, including our remote workforce, office enterprise network, Global Sensor Network (GSN), and AWS environments.

This is a highly cross-functional role within the Technology organization, partnering across IT, Security, DevSecOps, Engineering, and business teams to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable connectivity across Slingshot's operations.

Your Mission - Should You Choose to Accept It
  • Own the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise network architecture across on-premises, cloud, and distributed environments
  • Lead Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) strategy and implementation using Zscaler, including ZIA and ZPA
  • Design network policies, segmentation, and access controls to support secure business operations
  • Manage and optimize secure remote access infrastructure, including MDM, host management, VPN alternatives, and distributed workforce connectivity
  • Support the design, deployment, and hardening of networking for the Global Sensor Network (GSN)
  • Partner with DevSecOps teams on AWS GovCloud networking architecture, including VPC design, routing, and secure connectivity
  • Administer and secure DNS infrastructure, including internal and external resolution, filtering, and resilience
  • Design and maintain secure office wired and wireless networks
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for network configurations and deployments
  • Ensure compliance with CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, and other relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Support domestic and international networking requirements, including data sovereignty and interoperability considerations
  • Monitor, detect, and respond to network-based threats and incidents in coordination with security teams
  • Continuously improve network performance, availability, reliability, and security posture
  • Document network architecture, standards, and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Pre-flight Checklist
  • 8+ years of experience in network engineering or a related field
  • Strong expertise in enterprise networking, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS
  • Hands-on experience with Zero Trust architectures and Zscaler, including ZIA and ZPA, strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting cloud networking, particularly AWS; GovCloud experience preferred
  • Experience with distributed and remote workforce networking solutions
  • Knowledge of network security principles, threat detection, and incident response
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, or similar compliance frameworks
  • Understanding of global networking challenges, including international regulations and connectivity constraints
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE required or strongly preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

  • Experience securing mission-critical or operational technology environments
  • Experience supporting government, aerospace, defense, or national security customers
  • Experience designing resilient global network architectures

Location: Remote, US

Compensation: $130,000-$180,000
