Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Deployable Network Communications (Level 3) engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Aircraft Solutions organization. This role is located at Beale AFB.

Your duties include:

  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of several integrated and specialized information systems.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of information systems hardware/software, radio frequency and SATCOM communications systems, and interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Prepare documentation or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions.
  • Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range project planning and utilization of proprietary systems.
  • Ensure secure movement of information across a multi-classification level computing environment.
  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment.
  • Supports hardware/software integration activities and provides engineering feedback on effectiveness of system upgrades and modifications.
  • May design systems or portions of systems that include selection of hardware and software packages.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 9 years of related military / professional experience, OR a Bachelor's of Science degree and at least 5 years of related military / professional experience OR a Master's degree and at least 3 years of related military / professional experience OR a Ph.D and at least 1 year of related military / professional experience
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexiblework schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, and 365 days a year.
  • Must have the ability to meet medical requirements and pass a physical for worldwide travel.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time and accept customer furnished quarters, when required, for periods up to90 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements.
  • Must be able to maintain customer requirements for ability to deploy
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance and be able to maintain that clearance.

    • Must possess a DoD 8570/8140 recognized IAT Level-II or -III certification. (examples include: Security+, GSEC, GICSP, SSCP, SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, etc.)
    • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
