Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Network Communications (level 5) to join the team of qualified individuals on our Aircraft Solutions organization. This role is located onsite in Edwards AFB, CA.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains smooth operation of local area, world wide and virtual private networks (VPN).
  • Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.
  • May design network or portion of network that include selection of hardware and software packages.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 16 years of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of experience relevant Network Communications/Administration OR a Master's Degree and 10 years of experience relevant Network Communications/AdministrationOR a PhD with 8 years of experience relevant Network Communications/Administration.

  • Must have or be able to obtain Security Plus (Sec+) Certification within 6 months of hire.

  • Must be able to complete initial qualification training within 365 days from program access and show continuous progress throughout the training program.

  • Must be willing/able to work a flexiblework schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, and 365 days a year.

  • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance in order to apply.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
