Northrop Grumman's Corporate Sector's Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking a Network Engineer to support the IT Infrastructure & Operations organization.
The selected candidate will provide on-site network support at McLean, VA plus several remote sites to support the network infrastructure. This position will be located in Dulles, VA. Please note that the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Dulles, VA campus - this is NOT a remote work opportunity.
A successful candidate will work with a team in supporting the LAN/WAN. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven individual with experience in networking.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to clients, respond to their request promptly and resolve network issues.
  • Proficient knowledge with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP related protocols, Dynamic Routing Protocols, Switching technologies and features.
  • Maintains in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry trends, etc., for the Networking discipline, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, interconnection.
  • Plans, designs, configures, and installs network hardware in support of customer requirements.
  • Ability to successfully solve network related problems reported by users.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Creates and ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Occasionally travel to other Northrop Grumman sites as needed.
  • Interface regularly with customers and manage customer installation timelines and deliverables to help facilitate successful deployments.
  • Experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, Opnet, SolarWinds, etc.).
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office 365 applications and Visio.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 2 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors or Masters.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment.
  • Experience with Cisco hardware and setting up switched networks.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
