Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization's financial planning, reporting, and analysis functions. This role works closely with the CFO and Accounting team to provide accurate financial information, develop analytical tools, support month-end and quarter-end close activities, and assist with strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, strong software skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analyses, management reporting, and executive summaries, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform account reconciliations and account analysis as part of the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Analyze project, operational, and financial performance by evaluating job costs, labor productivity, gross margins, work-in-progress (WIP), backlog, cost-to-complete estimates, and general ledger activity to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and long-range planning tools to support business growth and operational planning.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including profitability, labor productivity, capacity utilization, inventory turnover, and equipment performance through interactive dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, data models, and automated reporting solutions that deliver timely and actionable financial and operational insights.
  • Support ERP system administration and optimization by improving reporting capabilities, data governance, master data integrity, and workflow automation.
  • Partner with IT, accounting, and operations teams to integrate financial data across business systems, streamline processes, and identify opportunities for digital transformation.
  • Utilize SQL, data query tools, and business intelligence platforms to extract, validate, and analyze large datasets for financial and operational reporting.
  • Assist with software implementations, upgrades, and testing for ERP, financial reporting, and business intelligence applications, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and documentation.
  • Collaborate with accounting, operations, and leadership teams to improve financial performance, support strategic initiatives, and communicate business trends and recommendations.
  • Assist with external audits and other regulatory or financial reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls while promoting continuous process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 35 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, or a related finance role.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, GAAP accounting principles, and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, Power Query, and complex data analysis.
  • Experience developing and maintaining reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Vista, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and financial reporting software.
  • Familiarity with SQL, database concepts, data warehousing, and data extraction tools for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, software upgrades, report writing, or process automation initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of data governance, system integrations, and the use of technology to improve business processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and technical information into clear business recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in project-based accounting, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other operationally intensive industries is preferred.
  • Knowledge of fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, and project costing methodologies is a plus.
