Position: Middle School Library Media Center Aide
Posting Dates: June 16 - 23, 2026 internal; June 24 - until filled external
Reports To: Travis Plain, Middle School Principal
E?ective Date of Employment: August 19, 2026
Starting Wage: $16.30 per hour

Qualifications:
- High School diploma required, experience working with children or in a library preferred
- Must be able to take direction from building administrators, media specialist and teachers
- Must exhibit the qualities of patience, consistency, and flexibility in working with students and staff
- Must be well organized and willing to take on tasks as they arise
- Knowledge of media center tools and online programs
- Experience with technology to create and distribute announcements via email and Risevision
- Have an open-minded attitude and passion for working with all students
Essential Job Functions:
- Management of the media center and materials
- Assists teachers and students in locating appropriate materials, often gathering materials per teacher requests
- Assist students in the use of digital programs and in online searching
- Process, catalog, and organize media center materials
- Maintaining the bulletin boards and/or displays
- Checking in, checking out, and correct shelving of materials
- Assists with special programs and classroom projects that involve the media center
- Conducting year-end inventories of all equipment and materials
- Repairing damaged materials and preparing lists of materials to replace
- Assist students with 504 and ELL plans including but not limited to providing a quiet environment for completing assessments as a proctor or scribe
- Maintain a catalog on all checked/loaned library materials
- Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents
- Supervise in-school online learners
- Assist in Lunch Recovery
- Other duties as assigned

Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment: Uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copy and fax machines, and telephones.
Travel Requirements: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

- Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is loud to moderate.
- Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile, and negotiate.
