As a Production Supervisor, you will lead a team of up to 50 employees to ensure employee safety, product quality, and asset performance while delivering production goals on time. You will be responsible for coaching and developing your team through hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement. By partnering with cross-functional teams across the site and Nestle USA, you will help drive alignment and operational excellence. You will lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Through your leadership, you will motivate your team to achieve results and deliver success against key safety, quality, productivity, and performance metrics.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

SAFETY:

    • Understand the safety risks associated with job.
    • Comply with all safety rules, procedures, and work practices.
    • Report all safety incidents.
    • Has read and understands the Safety, Health and Environmental Policy.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

    • Understand the aspects of the job that impact the environment.
    • Comply with all environmental rules, procedures, and work practices.
    • Report all environmental incidents.
    • Has read and understands the Safety, Health and Environmental Policy.

QUALITY:

    • Follow recipes and deviations at all times. Unauthorized deviations are strictly forbidden.
    • Comply with all regulatory rules, procedures and work practices.
    • Follow all Nestle and GMP procedures.
    • Maintain confidential information on recipes.
    • Report all deviations from the recipe.

OPERATIONS:

    • Quality procedures and policies are followed to include HACCP, NQS, SSOP, FTQ.
    • Attend fresh and frozen panels and follow up promptly.
    • Assure all associates understand quality parameters.
    • Take every reasonable and positive action to meet productivity goals daily.
    • Assure GMP's are understood and followed by all associates.
    • Set agenda, conduct and publish notes on line meetings that allow constructive two-way communication.
    • Update Business Unit Manager on line progress.
    • Safety rules and procedures are followed on daily basis.
    • Safety representative is actively involved in line meetings, safety tours, and daily limit switch checks.
    • Keep area staffed with proper number of qualified associates while evaluating where tasks can be combined or altered to reduce labor requirements.
    • Responsible for maintaining packaging and food variances within budgeted guidelines.
    • Minimize water usage and body levels by ensuring team members follow dry cleaning methods, dispose of liquid waste properly, utilize water at minimal levels needed in operations and turn off water to machinery when not in use.
    • Be aware of and react to opportunities to save electricity and other resources.
    • Fairly and promptly evaluate all associates on an annual basis.
    • Be aware of Nestle management philosophies and apply them when handling issues with Nestle associates.
    • Develop associates to ensure they can manage their area of responsibility.
    • All associates must be trained through the required programs and achieve required level of performance.
    • Maintain training documentation and fair rotation.
    • Work with HR to assure all Nestle policies and guidelines are followed properly and fairly.
    • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration is preferred, or equivalent job experience
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food processing, packaging, Quality, Supply Chain, and knowledge of GMP's.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in Continuous Improvement environment (Lean manufacturing or TPM preferred)
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening). Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences, facilitate group coaching, and information sharing. Ability to positively confront and effectively deal with non-compliance through effective "soft skills".
  • Excellent people skills - maintain a positive attitude and ability to motivate people, specifically mentoring and coaching individuals in identifying short- and long-term development needs and providing appropriate support.
  • Confidence in own capacity and judgment. Must be willing to face challenging situations. Developed ability to build personal relationships based on trust, mutual respect and open communication
