Job description

Position Overview

We are in search of a highly experienced Electrical Engineering Department Manager to lead and inspire our electrical engineering team. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader who excels in a consulting environment, is adept at fostering client relationships, and is committed to delivering cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal authority for industrial electrical engineering projects.
  • Oversee all electrical design phases from initial concept through to construction completion.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers, encouraging professional development.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and manage interactions with clients and stakeholders.
  • Supervise the creation of comprehensive electrical design documents, including control schematics, power/conduit plans, and equipment specifications for various voltage levels and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory codes such as NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and IEC.
  • Drive business growth by nurturing client relationships and acquiring new projects.
  • Participate in industry events and client meetings as a knowledgeable technical advisor.
  • Support the recruitment and retention of top engineering talent.
  • Conduct field assessments and provide construction support as required.
  • Champion process enhancements and standardize design tools and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in industrial electrical design, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) License is mandatory.
  • Proven track record in team leadership, mentorship, and client relationship management.
  • Expertise in industries such as power, energy, biofuels, oil & gas, pulp & paper, or similar process sectors.
  • Desired proficiency in software tools like ETAP, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks (BIM 360).
  • Strong skills in project management, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on growth and a client-oriented approach.
