Job Description:

The Nebraska Correctional Center for Women is looking for a Corrections Unit Case Manager with strong interpersonal skills to lead a team of staff and work with our incarcerated population.

Provide supervision and guidance to Unit Caseworkers in the successful performance of unit management operations.
Monitor incarcerated individuals behavior and maintain order within housing units, addressing issues as needed.
Guide and counsel incarcerated individuals on rules, treatment plans, and rehabilitation programs, including crisis intervention and parole planning.
Coordinate and document inmate background information and referrals for appropriate medical, mental health, educational, and vocational services.
Facilitate non-clinical programming for assigned incarcerated population.


Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field OR Associate's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field plus two years of corrections experience; OR four years of corrections experience.

Legal Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supervising/leading teammates

Experience managing a caseload

At least one year of experience in a correctional setting

Experience as a guest instructor, facilitating programs or public speaking

Other: Candidates will be required to successfully complete facilitator training and instruct non-clinical programming. Valid driver's license. Transcripts required prior to appointment. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
