Concordia University is needing an Assistant, Associate or Professor of Human and Social Sciences/Psychology who wants to be a part of this mission. Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to teach at the undergraduate level, advise students, and assist in the development and execution of strategic initiatives for the College of Education, and the Human and Social Sciences Department at the University.
This is a full-time faculty level position with full benefits package. Must be at least 19 years of age to apply. This faculty position is slated to begin in the Fall of 2026 at the beginning of the academic year.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
  • Teach classes in Human and Social Sciences Department, based on the needs of the Department.
  • Engage in College and Departmental planning, course and program assessment, curriculum development, student advising, and assistance with student recruitment and activities.
  • Support the growth of the College of Education, Human and Social Sciences and department through innovative ideas and leadership experiences.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to enthusiastically embrace the mission and vision of Concordia University, Nebraska.
  • Remain current in content areas of teaching responsibilities.
  • Work with colleagues from multiple departments to serve the University.
  • Other general faculty duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education-
  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in related field preferred. Candidates who have earned a master’s and who agree to pursue a terminal degree will be considered.
Experience-
Appropriate successful experience in the workplace or in a classroom that will lead to successful university-level teaching and mentoring in an acceptable subset of the following areas:
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching, preferably at the community college or university level.
  • Desire to develop professional relationships with students in which the faculty member is seen as an instructor, mentor, and advisor.
  • A candidate who is an active Christian is required. Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod membership preferred.
Specialized Knowledge-
  • Knowledge of Psychology and the Human/Social Sciences professions or direct practical experience in field is important.
Special Position Requirements:
  • Familiarity with higher education, curriculum planning, course development, assessment, best teaching, and administrative practices; or a record of excellence in teaching.
  • Must be proficient in technology use and able to use various technologies supported by the university.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a diverse constituency both on and off campus.
  • All staff and faculty must follow security policies that correspond to the level of sensitivity of the data they handle.
  • Staff and faculty should promptly report any security concerns or incidents to designated personnel.
  • Maintain security and patching of personal devices connected to the Institutional email.
  • Maintain high standards for institutional, staff, faculty, employee, and financial data used for business operations.
  • Values and beliefs aligned with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
