Senior Pizzaiolo & Shift Lead – Pizza Bocca Lupo

Location: San Pedro Square Market, Downtown San Jose
Total Compensation: $30.00 – $38.00/hour (Base: $22–$27 + Tips: $8–$11)
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday (Evenings)

Pizza Bocca Lupo is looking for a skilled Senior Artisan Pizza Maker / Shift Lead who lives for the craft. As one of the few restaurants dedicated to the Vera Pizza Napoletana tradition, we take immense pride in our product. We need a high-energy leader who can handle high-volume shifts while maintaining the strict quality standards of authentic Neapolitan pizza.

The Role (Responsibilities)

As a Senior member of the team, you will be expected to:

  • Master the Craft: Stretch, top, and cook pizzas to VPN standards in a high-volume environment.
  • Lead the Floor: Lead shift operations, ensuring punctuality, efficiency, and team morale.
  • Prep & Quality Control: Manage dough and ingredient prep to ensure every pie is perfect.
  • Customer Experience: Interface with guests and maintain the energy of our open kitchen.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee nightly clean-up and provide "extra hand" support or shift coverage when needed.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
  • Experience: Previous professional pizza-making experience is required (Artisan/Wood-fired experience preferred).
  • Leadership: An assertive, team-first attitude with the ability to lead by example.
  • Reliability: You are punctual, hard-working, and available Tuesday through Saturday evenings.
  • Technical: Must have a valid ServSafe certification and adhere to strict hygiene standards.
  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Compliance: Authorized to work in the U.S. (we use E-Verify).
