Senior Director of Natural Sales (West/RM)West and Rocky Mountains

A little about this role:

The Senior Director of Natural Sales is the leader responsible for the leader responsible for the day to day management, growth and strategic initiatives of our West & Rocky Mountains Natural Grocery teams. Our Senior Director of Natural Sales is a self-starter who has the ability to really โ€œownโ€ their business; working strategically with senior leadership and owners both internally and externally, presenting and quarterbacking the overall sales and business objectives. They must be willing to roll up their sleeves, be strong willed, detailed driven, and highly motivated and dedicated to growing natural focused food and beverage brands while also developing their team.

A day in the life:
  • Leadership โ€“ As a Senior Director of Natural Sales, you lead by example, manage, develop, and coach the West & Rocky Mountains Natural Grocery team. You are the leader of the team and run the day-to-day operations, responsible for creating and leading overall processes, coordinating strategic development and tactical execution for our sales territories, retailers, vendor partners and Presence.
  • Strategic Expertiseโ€“ Develop sales plans taking into account competitive environment, brand position in the marketplace. Work with manufacturers to maximize their resources to develop and implement strategic sales promotional plans for success in designated distributors and retailers.
    • Oversee the execution of the sales plan and adjust as necessary to maximize results.
    • Collect, consolidate and disseminate all manufacturer information including but not limited to promotions, new items, hip pocket deals, case stacks, holiday items, truckloads, overstocks, displays, demo, audit sand spiff programs.
    • Develop top line sales growth of brands through effective actionable sales/marketing strategies.
  • Trade Shows โ€“ Participate in Trade Shows. Travel and other duties as necessary.
  • Presenting โ€“ You must be comfortable to make concise and compelling presentations to a variety of audiences, capturing the attention and engagement of the most demanding and time-pressed individuals.
  • Analytics โ€“ Knowing your business and opportunities is an essential piece of driving sales, creating new opportunities for your accounts and our brands. Understanding, analyzing, and presenting data such as SPINS, Nielsen, Power BI, store level void reports and distributor data is important to manage, monitor and utilize to maximize new product placement, capitalize during category reviews and gain successful promotions.
  • Communication is key โ€“ You are expected to have value-added, solution-oriented, positive, and timely communication (both internally and externally). This dynamic position requires working in partnership with all departments.

What we are looking for:
  • Dependable, extroverted, diplomatic person, able to problem-solve successfully with a wide variety of people and issues
  • Knowledge and interest of the natural products/brands and retail landscape is a plus
  • Proficient computer (MS Office applications) and data-mining skills
  • Flexibility to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
  • Strong selling skills - negotiation, presentation and public speaking
  • Ability to manage time and deadlines
  • Able to problem solve successfully with wide variety of people and issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for creating and maintaining accurate promotional planners, new item recaps, and monthly sales reports
  • Minimum 3 yearsโ€™ experience within the natural industry
  • Corporate call experience as well as fluency with consumption data, both SFs portal and SPINS
  • Ability to focus on both the big picture and details
Salary:

Full time position, salary commensurate with level of experience, location and current market landscape
