Job description


I. Job Summary
WMRE is a owns and/or operates a portfolio of RNG facilities and RNG-adjacent assets across North America.  WMRE is planning to produce up to 30 bcf of renewable natural gas annually, and we are actively engaged in various commercial activities to monetize our production across our growing portfolio.  Helping to grow the business by optimizing our state-of-the-art assets, we are looking for a Renewable Natural Gas Originator.  The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a firm understanding of the nuances of the North American CNG fleet/dispensing market. They should have a successful track record of transacting on both spot and longer-term structured transactions.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

Transaction Execution: have the creativity, patience and relationships to originate and execute longer-term structured transactions within the North American Renewable CNG fleet dispensing space.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders in operations and the compliance market to optimize WM's portfolio of RNG assets.
  • Market Expertise: Maintain a thorough understanding of the compliance market and governing bodies, including legislation that impacts RIN pricing.
  • Networking & Sales: Leverage an established list of industry buyers and contacts to successfully transact RNG sales.
  • Legislation Knowledge: understand the implications and determine applicability of relevant Federal Tax legislation and any other state and federal incentive programs and its impact on compliance market pricing and dynamics.
  • Innovative Deal Structuring: Originate creative deal structures and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment to drive growth and innovation.
  • Customer & Internal Relations: Exhibit strong customer and internal stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate a strong ability to work as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Environmental Attributes Platforms: Be proficient with common platforms that manage environmental attributes (EAs) as well as the logistics of the RNG chain of custody.
  • ISCC Certification: Familiarity with ISCC certifications.
  • RNG Pricing: Have a comprehensive view of RNG pricing and value sharing mechanism in the fleet dispensing market.


III. Qualifications 
A. Required Qualifications 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Economics or relative field
  • 5 years Relative work experience in energy origination

B. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven track record in RNG sales and market transactions.
  • Strong network of industry buyers and contacts.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and its market impacts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to optimize the optionality of WM's RNG portfolio of assets.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team. Ability to present to both small internal groups and external audiences
  • Courage to make qualified independent decisions and move forward

  • Collaborative, both within immediate team and the wider business
