The Business Development Rep - Gas is responsible for leading substantial projects and transactions while interacting with customers at all levels within their organizations. This role will assist leadership in creating project assignments, supervising work within the group, and providing mentorship on sophisticated business development and origination issues. An extensive range of knowledge regarding the natural gas/oil business and strong problem solving skills are keys to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Leads large, sophisticated projects with significant risk and complexity to achieve objectives; develops strategy for project execution and handles resource requirements
  • Negotiates and understands all components of a deal structure; evaluates risk/reward potential and cost/rate of return in combination with other deal terms
  • Develops innovative services, technologies, processes, or products that address current and future needs of our customers
  • Identifies and estimates contributors to costs; accurately forecasts financial information like costs and revenue
  • Makes prudent decisions regarding expenditures while using financial and quantitative information to guide actions and performance
  • Conducts research and analysis to identify, evaluate, recommend, and pursue new growth opportunities that will augment our existing business and expand us into other segments
  • Benchmarks post transaction operating results to acquisition pro forma and assists in development of acquisition long range forecasts
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of commercial aspects of the energy industry; comprehends energy market fundamentals, trends, and economics across the industry including commodity pricing, basin market fundamentals and competitor strategies
  • Forms opinions and challenges recommendations on basin in addition to customer and competitor intelligence based off third-party tools and publications
  • Builds strategies for the development of commercial knowledge and exhibits problem solving skills for sophisticated issues
  • Proven expertise in natural gas infrastructure and natural gas marketing, with a specific emphasis on the Western U.S. market
  • Demonstrated success in customer acquisition and retention in the natural gas sector
  • Strong existing relationships with producers, end-users, and infrastructure operators in the natural gas industry
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:

Business Development Director-Gas

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related areas of study; minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant experience
  • Preferred: MBA

Business Development Sr-Gas

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field; minimum seven (7) years' experience

  • Preferred: Master's degree in business; minimum ten (10) years' experience

Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
  • Knowledge of upstream, midstream, downstream or renewable assets and industries
  • Experience with asset development and/or commercial ventures
