Job description

Our client is seeking a Natural Gas Originator to identify, develop, and execute long-term natural gas supply, transportation, storage, and asset management transactions across the Northeast market. Reporting to the Head of Origination, this role owns the full commercial lifecycle from opportunity development through execution while partnering closely with Trading and other internal stakeholders to expand the company's portfolio and create measurable value for the business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Originate, structure, and negotiate long-term natural gas sales, supply, transportation, storage, and asset management transactions with wholesale customers.
  • Partner with the Trading team to develop regional commercial strategies, optimize portfolio positions, and identify new market opportunities.
  • Expand the company's commercial presence across the Northeast by developing new customer relationships, products, and services.
  • Evaluate pipeline transportation opportunities and structure asset management agreements that maximize value for customers and the trading portfolio.

Required Experience / Skills
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of natural gas origination and/or trading experience with demonstrated success creating commercial value for a trading desk.
  • Established industry relationships and a proven ability to develop and grow a book of business within the Northeast natural gas market.
  • Strong knowledge of the North American natural gas transportation network, including Transco, Texas Eastern, Tennessee, Algonquin, Iroquois, and Maritimes & Northeast pipelines, along with pipeline tariffs and applicable regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions, lead complex commercial transactions, and quickly develop practical solutions.
