About the Role
The Loomis Sayles Strategic Relationships Team (SRT) is currently recruiting for Director, Strategic Relationships to join the group. This person will be an integral member of SRT and will be responsible for managing client relationships within our institutional subadvisory business channel. This person will also be responsible for working in tandem with the business development team, key stakeholders at Natixis, investment product teams, product marketing, RFP team, compliance/legal team, Client Intake team, Client Administration and & Portfolio Analyst teams to further support growth and development of the firm's strategic relationships. Success in the role relies on consistent service excellence, building trust and identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships. This position will reside in Boston and report to Emily Hannum, Head of Subadvisory Relationship Management.
About the Team
The Strategic Relationships team is made up of 10 members, who specialize in the objectives of institutional sub-advisory clients. All members of the team work together to service the firm's largest clients and are focused on relationship management, and business development with strategic institutional clients and prospects, focused exclusively on sub-advisory, OCIO, stable value, and advisory solutions. The teams work collectively to provide best-in-class service to Loomis and our sub-advisory clients worldwide.
Job Responsibilities
  • Primary point of contact for assigned clients, develop an in-depth understanding of investment strategies that encompass client accounts
  • Trusted Advisor by delivering exceptional client service to range of mutual fund managers, variable annuity platforms, stable value platforms, and OCIO client accounts
  • Provide clients and/or intermediaries with ongoing updates about the investment philosophy, process, and performance of clients' mandates, working closely with business development, product management, and Institutional Services colleagues to retain and grow assets/revenue
  • Develop a broad understanding of full client context, including client staff, all asset pools, and other key influencer relationships
  • Assist subadvisory clients with the distribution process, working with the SRT business development team to provide promotional materials and digital content to support the Client's sales and marketing of relevant subadvised strategies.
  • Understand and represent the broad range of Loomis strategies to clients and their and other key influencers
  • Play a key role, along with business development, in identifying client challenges that Loomis can solve, ideally by introducing new strategies/solutions, based on understanding of client context, that contribute to broad, multi-mandate relationships
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Product Management and Portfolio Management to rebid and/or establish new relationships with existing clients
  • Significant travel required: approximately 50 percent

Qualifications & Education Requirements
The successful candidate is likely to:
  • Bachelor's degree; MBA and/or CFA/CAIA designations a plus
  • FINRA licenses: Series 3, 63, and 7
  • Considerable (7-10+ years) professional experience, ideally in a relationship management role within the sub-advisory and/or strategic relationships marketplace (MF, VA, OCIO, Stable Value, sub-advised ETFs)
  • Demonstrate high level of capital markets/investments/product knowledge, ideally across multiple asset classes
  • Have the ability to represent the firm and the firm's investment strategies in both informal and formal settings, including portfolio review presentations, onsite due diligence meetings, and frequent travel with product and portfolio managers
  • Demonstrate the ability to build, strength, and maintain relationships with external clients and key internal teams
  • Demonstrate extremely strong qualitative skills, interpersonal, presentation and relationship building skills
  • Strong organizational skill and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within Loomis Sayles

Additional Requirements
The position follows a hybrid schedule with two days work from home and three days work from office.
Loomis Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $275,000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience, skills, qualifications and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award, which is based on individual and company performance.
