Job description

Nativity Catholic School isย seekingย a dynamic, faith-filled Foreign Language Teacher to lead our 7th and 8th-grade students. This role focuses on preparing middle schoolers for high school language programs by developing their linguisticย proficiencyย and cultural awareness.ย 

This is a part-time position with the unique opportunity to increase hours by serving as a preferred substitute teacher on campus when not scheduled for language instruction.ย 

Essential Duties & Responsibilitiesย 

  • Targeted Instruction: Deliver a rigorous 7th and 8th-grade curriculum focusing on grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and cultural literacy.ย 

  • Bridge to High School:ย Prepare students for Level 1 or Level 2 high school placement exams.ย 

  • Flexible Support:ย Optionally serve as a substitute teacher for other subject areas to support school operations and increase weekly hours.ย 

  • Faith Leadership:ย Integrate Catholic identity into the classroom through prayer and the study of global Catholic traditions.ย 

  • Classroom Management:ย Maintainย a professional and engaging environment suitable for the middle school developmental stage.ย 

Qualificationsย 

  • Education:ย Bachelors degree in Education, World Languages, orย a relatedย field (required).ย 

  • Certification:ย Florida Teaching Certificate (or eligibility) in the target language.ย 

  • Fluency:ย High levelย ofย proficiencyย in both the target language and English.ย 

  • Flexibility:ย Willingness to adapt to a middle school schedule andย assistย with school-wide needs.ย 

Employment Requirementsย 

  • Clearance:ย Successful completion of a Level II background screening (FDLE Fingerprinting).ย 

  • Safe Environment:ย Completion of the Diocese of St. Petersburg Safe Environment Training.ย
