JOB DESCRIPTION: The teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success.
CLASSES: This teacher will be responsible for teaching the following classes: Math (gr. 5-8), Reading (gr. 8), Religion (gr. 8, if Catholic).
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process and meaningful learning experiences. Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop unit organization around historical problems, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction. Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Carries out the Catholic mission of our school.
