Their duties typically include managing teams, coordinating with regional offices, and implementing policies on a national scale. The specific responsibilities can vary widely depending on the industry and the full job title.

The phrase “national jobs” can refer to several types of career options. The term is often used to describe jobs that relate to the nation as a region. For example, you could work in national sales as a national account manager, with responsibilities like building relationships with key personnel at client companies. National jobs also include careers with the federal government, like those with the National Park Service, the different military branches, the Internal Revenue Service, intelligence agencies, and the U.S. Marshall service. The ideal candidate brings a strong network, a proven track record of success in logistics sales, and the ability to navigate complex supply chain challenges while consistently delivering results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-level presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions with senior decision-makers

  • Establish and grow long-term client relationships, ensuring retention and account expansion

  • Collaborate with operations and carrier sales teams to ensure seamless service execution

  • Stay informed on market trends, pricing dynamics, and capacity fluctuations to remain competitive

  • Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline tracking within CRM systems

Qualifications
  • 3–7+ years of experience in freight brokerage or logistics sales

  • Proven success selling truckload, LTL, intermodal, or multimodal transportation solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business and close high-value accounts

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills

  • Ability to travel as needed to support client development and account management

  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and working with enterprise-level clients is a plus

  • Existing book of business or well-established industry network preferred

Key Traits for Success
  • Hunter mentality with a relentless drive to win new business

  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

  • Strategic thinker with solid business and financial acumen

  • Customer-focused with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment

Why This Opportunity
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact on company growth and market expansion

  • High-visibility role with access to leadership and strategic decision-making

  • Collaborative, performance-driven culture with strong operational support

  • Flexibility to build and grow your own book of business
