Who we are looking for:
Napier Park is seeking a Research Analyst to join our credit research team. This hire will be located on our trading desk with our credit team, portfolio managers and traders. Analysts are members of our centralized research group, which has a strong focus on CLO management and bank loan investing. The ideal candidate will be focused primarily on bank loan issuers that will be owned as part of our CLO vehicles. Our approach focuses on fundamental credit analysis, capital structure, collateral analysis, three statement and cash flow modelling and industry comp analysis. We value open communication and expect the candidate to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to express their views clearly and concisely in verbal and written formats.

What you will do:
Conduct fundamental credit due diligence on potential investments (listen to lender calls, review all related materials, etc.)
Perform financial, comparative and proforma analyses of existing and potential investments
Produce investment memos, quarterly updates, issuer rankings
Collect and synthesize data and reports from industry and sell-side research sources
Monitor existing holdings, review loan amendments, review quarterly financial statements
Communicate changes in performance or recommendation of names covered to Head of Credit, PM's, Traders
Develop, update and review financial models

The qualities you should have:
Undergraduate degree, preferably in finance, business, economics or related field; CFA or MBA a plus
3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably within buyside/CLO credit
Dynamic and effective communication skills, focus and perseverance, self starter
Strong analytical, interpersonal and technical skills (i.e., excel and financial modelling)
Healthcare industry expertise or coverage a plus but open to other coverage backgrounds

Base Salary range: $110,000 to $140,000. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to - the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
