Job description

The Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting SALAM's programs and strengthening community engagement through excellent execution and participant support. This position helps ensure programs and events run smoothly, participants feel welcomed and guided, and day-to-day logistics are handled with consistency and care. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about serving the community through reliable operations.


Program Operations & Support


  • Support the planning and execution of SALAM programs and events, including day-of coordination and follow-up.
  • Serve as a point of contact for program participants and volunteers, responding to questions and helping resolve issues.
  • Coordinate logistics such as scheduling support, confirmations, check-in processes, room readiness, supplies, and materials preparation.
  • Assist instructors/program leads by ensuring spaces are prepared and resources are available. Engage with attendees to ensure a welcoming, organized, and supportive experience.
  • Collect basic feedback and operational notes to support continuous improvement.
  • Support leadership in exploring opportunities for new programs or partnerships by identifying needs and assisting with logistics planning.


Required Skills and Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications


  • Organizational Skills: Ability to support multiple programs and timelines with strong attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
  • Tech Proficiency: Comfortable using tools such as Microsoft 365, forms, spreadsheets, and basic scheduling systems.
  • Community-Focused: Ability to connect with community members and respond thoughtfully to participant needs.
  • Cultural & Islamic Values Awareness: Upholds Islamic etiquette and values; communicates respectfully in a manner aligned with SALAM's environment.


Preferred Experience


  • Experience in program coordination, administrative support, customer service, event support, or community outreach (nonprofit experience a plus).
  • Familiarity with SALAM's mission and community.
