The Royal Caribbean Group's Celebrity Cruises has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Specialist, Music Operations reporting to the Manager, Music Development & Operations.

Position Overview

The Senior Specialist, Music Operations is responsible for the support of Celebrity Cruises Live Music and DJ department through the analysis of onboard programming and the operational effectiveness of all programming and associated assets. This position will support the scheduling and processing of crew members across the Music department and assist in coordinating and communicating with various shipboard and shoreside personnel as well as outside vendors. This role will report to the Manager, Music Development & Operations.ย 

  • Supports Live Music with crew scheduling needs to ensure the fleet is fully staffed while developing andย maintainingย a pipeline of staff toย accommodate forย internal promotions and fleet growth.ย ย 
  • Manages onboarding for all musicians and DJsย forย fleet.ย 
  • Overseesย DJ vetting, hiring,ย schedulingย and processing.ย 
  • Assistsย with the schedule, budget,ย travelย and accommodations for theย Rehearsal Musicย Director.ย 
  • Conducts analysis and administrationย of existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) forย Celebrityย Cruises'ย entertainment experiences, ensuring they align with the company'sย brand values,ย vision,ย standardsย and guest expectations as well asย development of new SOPs in collaboration withย Live Musicย Shoreside and Shipboard teams.ย ย 
  • Aidย programmingย execution,ย consistency in deliveryย and quality while assessing and implementing adjustments based on brandย initiatives,ย guestย feedbackย and consumer insights.ย 
  • Collaboratesย withย Marketing andย Entertainment teamsย to ensure Celebrity Cruises and Entertainment websites and social media accurately reflect onboardย Entertainmentย Experiencesย and to attract top talent for onboard positions within the department, ensuring highest level of talent is sourced.ย 
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations ofย Live Musicย cruise grids, Celebrity Today schedules and Celebrity App offerings to ensure adherence toย establishedย SOPs.ย 
  • Utilize data analysis to review guest feedback,ย trendsย and comments in Medalliaย surveysย toย leverageย successful programming strategies.ย 
  • Collaboratesย withย internal stakeholders toย utilizeย dataย toย identifyย patterns, preferences, and areasย ofย opportunityย inย Live Musicย andย developย actionableย strategiesย to support.ย 
  • Create comprehensive reports and presentations to show findings forย Live Musicย through analysis of End of Voyage reports.ย 
  • Keep up to dateย withย industry trends, emergingย technologiesย and entertainment innovations.ย 
  • Research creative ideas for new entertainment concepts, technologies, and collaborations that align with guest interests and feedback found within data, to enhance the overall guest experience.ย 
  • Analysis of onboard programming and how it relates toย utilizationย of onboardย parย of entertainmentย team.ย 
  • Assistsย with the management of music licenses.ย 
  • Collaborates on Fleetwide Background Music (BGM) strategyย and operations.ย 
  • Oversees handover strategy for onboard rehearsals including theย Extra Cabin Request systemย in tandem with Theatrical,ย Wardrobeย and Revenue Teams.ย ย 
  • Updatesย Live Musicย archivesย to ensureย information isย accurate,ย accessibleย and distributedย to team members as needed.ย

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree inย Music,ย Entertainment, Artsย Administrationย or a minimum ofย twoย to threeย (2-3)ย yearsย comparable work experience in the entertainment or cruise industry with an emphasisย on programmingย or musicย 
  • Strong ability to gather,ย interpretย and report accurately on data.ย ย ย 
  • Proactiveย mindset, forward-thinker who acts with a sense of urgency and is on the pulse of trends within entertainment experiences,ย musicย programmingย andย the cruise industryย 
  • Excellent business communication skills both verbally and in writing; ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, analytics reports and legalย documents.ย 
  • Ability to assessย and evaluateย musical talentย through audition material, show reels andย promotional submissionsย 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executive management, groups of managers, employees,ย staffย and customersย 
  • Proficiencyย inย PowerPoint,ย Excelย and Microsoft Officeย applicationsย 
  • Ability to build andย maintainย successful business relationships throughout the department, the company as a whole and with external vendorsย 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and prioritiesย 
  • Previousย hotel, resort, casino, theme park experience, a plusย 
  • Previousย onboard cruise ship experience,ย a plusย 

Financial / Quantitative Responsibilities

  • Familiar withย budget forecasting,ย trackingย andย maintenanceย 
  • Ability toย forecast costsย andย identifyย ROI on programming initiativesย 
  • Ability toย identifyย and recommend cost saving opportunities and operational efficienciesย 

Internal / External Relationships

Sr. Specialist, Music Operations is a key partner across Hotel Operations to collaborate with principals on creative projects impacting multiple areas of the Hotel Operation including Food and Beverage, On Board Revenue, Product Development, Brand Strategy & Innovation and MICE for analysis of overall effectiveness of the Live Music Department and how it integrates into the overall Celebrity Cruises product.

Partner with internal and external Entertainment vendors to add production value, build brand recognition and identity to experiences and create clear processes for creative resource development and deployment.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the development of seasonal celebrations and holiday programming.

This position requires up to 25% International travel. When in office, 75% of time working at Port of Miami office and up to 25% of the time at Production Studios in North Miami
