About the Position
The Broadcast Media Producer is responsible for the technical production and postproduction of the organization's radio broadcasts, podcasts, and related media content. This role ensures high quality audio and video production, manages recording sessions, edits program content, and supports the distribution of media across radio, podcast platforms, and digital channels. This individual works closely with hosts, guests, and the Broadcast team to ensure smooth recording sessions and professional final productions. The position also supports the Chief Audio Engineer in maintaining production systems and managing the organization's media archives.

Responsibilities
Recording & Production
- Learn the processes of and be a backup for the Chief Audio Engineer
- Set up and operate audio and video recording equipment and lighting for radio programs and podcasts
- Monitor sound levels, microphones, and recording quality during sessions
- Assist hosts and guests with microphones and recording setup
- Troubleshoot technical issues during recordings
- Shoot and switch video for podcast both in studio and virtually using Riverside
Editing & Postproduction
- Edit audio for radio broadcast and podcast distribution
- Edit video for podcast platforms and digital use
- Clean up audio including EQ, compression, noise reduction, and leveling
- Add music, intros, outros, and program elements
- Ensure final files meet broadcast and streaming standards
Equipment & Studio Support
- Assist the Chief Audio Engineer with studio operations, equipment maintenance, and technical troubleshooting
- Support the setup and maintenance of recording studios, microphones, mixers, and audio interfaces
- Help identify and report equipment issues or needs for improvement
- Act as backup production support for the Hope in the Night radio broadcast, including the ability to fill in for live production engineer (amounts to two - three weeks of HITN support each year)
Archiving & Media Management
- Organize and maintain archives of previous radio broadcasts, podcasts, and audio recordings
- Ensure media files are properly labeled, stored, and backed up for long term access
- Assist in retrieving archived recordings when needed for rebroadcast, research, or ministry use
Collaboration
- Work closely with Chief Audio Engineer, hosts, producers, and leadership to support program goals
- Coordinate recording schedules and assist with guest recordings
- Support special recording projects, interviews, or remote recording sessions as needed
Requirements
- Experience in radio, podcast, or broadcast production
- Strong knowledge of audio editing software such as Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, or Logic
- Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut
- Understanding of broadcast audio standards and microphone techniques
- Familiarity with podcast publishing platform
- Ability to troubleshoot audio and video issues quickly
- Strong attention to detail and production quality
- Strong knowledge of audio editing software such as Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, or Logic-
- Self-starter able to collaborate across teams and meetdeadlines and using project management software
- Strong technical aptitude
- Highly organized and detail oriented
