Job Summary

The Sr Director, Data & Analytics is responsible for building and leading the LA Galaxy's data, analytics, and business intelligence strategy to drive fan growth, engagement, retention, and revenue performance across all business lines. This role will oversee data infrastructure, analytics, segmentation, measurement, and reporting capabilities that enable data-driven decision making across marketing, ticketing, partnerships, retail, and digital product.

This leader will establish and scale a modern analytics organization focused on audience insights, lifecycle intelligence, attribution, and performance optimization. The role will oversee the development of a connected data ecosystem inclusive of CDP, CRM, and tracking infrastructure, while creating scalable reporting frameworks and actionable business insights that inform organizational strategy.

The Sr Director will partner closely with Marketing, Ticketing, Partnerships, Operations, and Technology leadership to establish measurement standards, improve visibility into performance, and develop audience strategies that support acquisition, retention, and monetization objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and lead the organization's data infrastructure strategy, including CDP, CRM, data warehouse, and fan intelligence capabilities, to create a unified fan view and scalable access to business intelligence across departments. Ensures the proper handling of Data Subject Rights requests and all consumer data and privacy matters across LA Galaxy business systems, maintaining strict compliance with AEG, MLS, California, and other applicable regulatory guidelines. Partner with AEG corporate teams and external vendors to ensure data governance, integration, and security standards are met.
  • Establish analytics, reporting, and measurement frameworks that connect marketing, ticketing, ecommerce, and fan engagement activities to revenue, retention, and lifetime value outcomes.
  • Lead audience segmentation and insights strategy to better understand fan behavior, lifecycle progression, and engagement opportunities across the customer journey.
  • Build and oversee tracking, attribution, dashboard, and closed-loop reporting capabilities that provide visibility into campaign, channel, and business performance.
  • Develop advanced audience and targeting strategies to support personalization, lifecycle marketing, paid media optimization, and conversion initiatives.
  • Build and lead a high-performing analytics and insights team, including organizational structure, hiring, capability development, prioritization, and performance management.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Ticketing, Partnerships, Operations, Finance, and Digital Product leadership to identify opportunities for optimization, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating budgets, vendor contracts, and forecasting related to analytics platforms, data infrastructure, and reporting tools.
  • Lead planning and execution support for capital and technology investment projects related to data infrastructure, analytics platforms, customer data systems, and fan intelligence capabilities.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and external analytics partners to ensure data quality, platform performance, cost efficiency, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Establish recurring business review processes and reporting cadences that drive accountability and performance visibility across the organization.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership around emerging trends in analytics, AI, measurement, and fan intelligence to maintain a competitive and innovative position.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) (Advanced Degree Preferred) Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Product or related technical field
  • 8-10 years Related work experience
  • Proven experience building and leading data and analytics organizations, including hiring, developing, and managing high-performing technical and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience designing and implementing modern data ecosystems, including CDP, CRM, and cloud data warehouse (CDW), with a focus on creating a unified customer view and enabling scalable access to data.
  • Strong experience translating data and analytics into actionable business insights, including segmentation, lifecycle strategy, and performance measurement that drive revenue and engagement outcomes.
  • Experience defining business problems, identifying opportunities, structuring analyses, and delivering clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Deep knowledge of modern data and marketing technology stacks, including CDPs, CRMs, analytics platforms, and digital product tools.
  • Experience with experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing and personalization strategies.
  • Familiarity with attribution modeling, marketing measurement, and performance analytics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and ability to learn all required business systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and articulate a clear data and digital product vision, influencing stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams around shared priorities.
  • Ability to translate strategic business goals into actionable data, analytics, and product roadmaps.

Payscale: $136,470.00 - $180,000.00

Bonus:  This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
