Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Multimedia Producer plays a central and hands-on role within NMDP's Video Services team, owning the full production lifecycle-from initial concept and pre-production planning through on-location filming, in-studio production and final post-production delivery. Working directly under the Manager, Video Services, this position serves as the primary production engine for a wide range of corporate video content, narrative donor and recipient short documentaries, and interview-based projects produced in NMDP's in-house studio.
This role requires both creative vision and disciplined project management. The successful candidate will be an experienced visual storyteller who is equally comfortable developing a production brief, operating Canon cinema equipment on a documentary shoot and delivering a polished final cut in Adobe Premiere Pro. As a senior contributor on a small, high-output team, this person will collaborate closely with the Manager and the Multimedia Specialist to ensure that every project meets NMDP's brand standards, strategic objectives and mission-driven storytelling values.
Please include with your application links to your portfolio.
Portfolio Requirements:
Video portfolio that showcases the following:
-3 videos with interviews and b-roll you shot (where you did the lighting, framing and audio)
-3 short documentary videos you edited (can be ones you also filmed, colored, edited and sound-mixed; can be the same as the videos in the bullet above)
-1-3 creative pieces that showcase your talent as a videographer and editor
-Photography gallery showing your range as a photographer: editorial and studio portraits, documentary and event photography
-Not required but also include, if available, motion graphic samples (original or customizing a template for a specific project; please provide details on what your involvement was)
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Video Production:
• Own the full production workflow for assigned projects-from intake and pre-production planning through final delivery-ensuring each project is completed on time, on brief and at the highest quality standard.
• Lead pre-production activities including concept development, scripting, storyboarding, production scheduling, shot-list creation, location scouting and equipment preparation.
• Serve as the primary camera operator and on-set producer for corporate video projects, documentary shoots and in-house studio interview productions.
• Operate Canon cinema and photography equipment with expertise, ensuring technically excellent and visually compelling captures across a variety of production environments.
• Travel up to 30% of the time to conduct on-location documentary shoots, capturing authentic donor and recipient stories as well as community and partner narratives that advance NMDP's mission.
• Direct and produce short-form documentaries (typically 3-5 minutes) that bring the NMDP story to life through real human experiences, employing strong narrative instincts and sensitivity to subject matter.
• Manage in-house studio productions, including interview setups, lighting design, audio configuration and teleprompter or interviewer coordination.
• Handle all post-production responsibilities for assigned projects, including editing, color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics, lower thirds and final export formatting for web, social and broadcast use.
• Maintain organized media asset libraries, project archives and file naming conventions to support team-wide accessibility and long-term asset management.
• Collaborate with the Manager, Video Services to evaluate and recommend gear upgrades, production tools and workflow improvements that benefit the full team.
• Support the Multimedia Specialist on shared productions, providing editorial guidance and production expertise when projects require additional capacity.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders-including marketing, communications, patient services and development teams-to gather project requirements and ensure alignment on creative direction.
• Source and manage freelance talent (e.g., audio engineers, additional camera operators) when project scope requires supplemental crew.
Creative Production:
• Partner with the Manager, Video Services and internal creative and marketing team members to translate organizational objectives and campaign briefs into compelling video concepts and production plans.
• Develop and present creative treatments, production timelines and project documentation to internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
• Bring an audience-first perspective to all content, with a particular understanding of how to tell emotionally resonant stories that connect with prospective blood stem cell donors, patients and their caregivers, medical providers, our network partners and the broader NMDP community.
• Apply a strong command of brand voice, visual identity and messaging consistency across all video deliverables, ensuring every production reflects NMDP's standards and values.
• Contribute motion graphics and basic animation work to support titles, lower thirds and branded sequences across video projects.
• Assist in adapting long-form content into social-optimized cuts and short-form assets for platforms including YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
• Stay current with emerging trends in video production, documentary storytelling and digital content distribution to continuously elevate the team's creative output.
• Provide constructive production and editorial feedback during team reviews, contributing to a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency operating Canon cinema and digital photography equipment in a variety of production environments, including controlled studio settings and dynamic on-location shoots.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Lightroom (or similar), bonus points for After Effects.

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional overnight and multi-day shoots.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners alike.
