About the Role: 

The Supervisor, MRP & Production Scheduling is responsible for leading day-to-day material requirements planning (MRP) and production scheduling activities across plants, including oversight of the MRP planning team. The role supports operational efficiency by balancing customer demand, production schedules, inventory targets, and material availability while partnering cross-functionally to drive consistency in MRP and production scheduling processes, process improvement, and effective execution across the network.
 

Team Supervision & Coordination

  • Oversee the MRP planning team, including central MRP Controllers and associated support roles.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development of team members.
  • Work closely with Supply Planning, plants, and other internal departments to remove obstacles, improve material planning effectiveness, and ensure clear two-way communication.
  • Represent the MRP planning function in cross-functional forums and act as a key contact for MRP, production scheduling, and related supply planning interface topics.

 Production Scheduling & Material Planning

  • Develop and maintain production scheduling strategies to support maximizing production efficiencies and minimizing material stockouts.
  • Balance customer requirements with production scheduling adherence and inventory targets.
  • Communicate market fluctuations and material planning changes clearly to the team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support hands-on production scheduling during peak periods as needed.

Inventory & Material Planning

  • Support the development and maintenance of inventory profiles by SKU, location, and customer to support service and supply objectives.
  • Monitor material availability and MRP planning activities to support operational continuity and customer service objectives.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Contribute to the improvement and standardization of MRP and production scheduling processes, escalation pathways, and communication routines.
  • Identify recurring MRP and production scheduling issues and drive practical solutions that improve reliability, transparency, and execution discipline.

Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain MRP data setpoints within the ERP system.
  • Support effective use and integration of MRP planning and data management tools.
  • Drive visibility of system and master data issues affecting MRP and production scheduling quality and support resolution with the relevant teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, supply chain, operations, or related field
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent professional certification desired

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in production planning and scheduling within a fast-paced manufacturing or similar industry environment
  • Minimum three (3) years of managerial or supervisory experience overseeing employees, departmental operations, or both
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, such as SAP or similar platforms, preferred
