They regularly collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and design teams to analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions. Candidates can prepare by strengthening their problem-solving skills, gaining familiarity with regulatory standards, and developing effective communication abilities since much of the role involves cross-functional teamwork and clear documentation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an MRB (Material Review Board) Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an MRB Engineer, you need a strong background in engineering principles, materials science, and quality assurance, usually supported by a relevant engineering degree. Proficiency in CAD software, manufacturing process tools, and quality management systems, along with certifications like Six Sigma or ASQ, is often required. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication are essential soft skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring product integrity. These skills are crucial for making sound decisions on non-conforming materials, maintaining high-quality standards, and minimizing production disruptions.

Five thousand dollars Retention Bonus after 12 months of employment

Expleo Group USA is seeking experienced MRB Design Engineers to support aerospace manufacturing programs through documentation-based MRB analysis and disposition. This role is office-based and focused on engineering evaluation, judgment, and decision-making using drawings, specifications, inspection data, and photographic evidence.

If you are passionate about aircraft repair, MRB engineering, and technical problem-solving—and prefer structured analysis over constant shop-floor firefighting—this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering analysis and create MRB design dispositions for assembly manufacturing nonconformances
  • Evaluate repair, rework, and use-as-is scenarios with consideration for fit, form, function, airworthiness, cost, and schedule
  • Process detail and sub-assembly concessions from risk-sharing partners and final assembly lines
  • Apply engineering judgment to documentation, inspection reports, measurements, and photographic evidence
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (Design, Stress, Quality, Manufacturing, Suppliers) to determine the most appropriate design solution
  • Ensure adherence to airworthiness requirements, customer procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Clearly document and communicate technical rationale for all MRB decisions
  • Escalate critical issues when required and mentor junior engineers as appropriate
  • Participate in customer-facing technical discussions as needed
What This Role Is

Documentation-driven, office-based MRB
Independent engineering decision-making role
Focused on technical evaluation and compliance

What This Role Is Not

A shop-floor production support role
A clerical or administrative position
A “rubber-stamp” approval function

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
  • Engineering degree must be ABET-accredited and recognized under the Washington Accord
  • Minimum of 3 years of MRB structures design engineering experience within aerospace (commercial or military)
  • Previously held MRB signing authority or delegated technical approval within the past 3–5 years (preferred)
  • Experience supporting Boeing commercial aircraft programs, particularly 737 and/or 787, or similar aircraft platforms
  • Strong understanding of metallic and composite structures
  • Solid knowledge of material properties, manufacturing methods, and their impact on aircraft performance
  • Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of SAP NCMS or similar nonconformance management systems
  • Familiarity with CATIA V5 for drawing/model interrogation (preferred)
  • Prior DOA experience, concessions training, TIPQA, or equivalent exposure is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
  • Three thousand dollars retention sign-on bonus after 90 days of successful employment

  • Additional relocation bonus for out of state candidates
  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Five thousand dollars retention retention bonus after 12 months of employment

  • 3 weeks (15 days) of paid time off and paid holidays

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Stable, office-based work environment

  • Long-term role with retention incentive
  • Supportive, collaborative engineering culture
