Job description

Newly Weds Foods provides premium ingredients to some of the biggest brand names in the country!! We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our Watertown, Mass team. This position is responsible for the effective management of all Maintenance functions and activities for the specified location. Supervise all of the departments 3 shifts and ensures the effective use of such personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all department employees to meet assigned workload and meet work schedule.
  • Oversee use of MPulse system for predictive and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure Staffing of the department and approve and schedule overtime, vacations and off time.
  • Works closely with Production on any maintenance related repair and maintenance issues.
  • Plan the Departments activities to coordinate with production schedules and needs. Work Closely with Production Supervisors and Managers.
  • Control expenses and oversee the use of manpower, equipment, and lab facilities.
  • Responsible for Internal and External use of manpower and assist in the direction of the repair and installation issues to ensure compliance for NWF to OSHA standards.
  • Plan, control, and direct the testing, troubleshooting, and accurately of completed assignments.
  • Works closely with Purchasing to get materials, tools, supplies and special needs products in and accounted for. .
  • Prepares forms, records, and logs as needed. Maintain such as required.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in an Engineering Field Preferred or equivalent Education, Experience and Training.
  • 6-8 years of Plant Experience with 3-4 years of supervisory experience. Facility Engineers and Industrial Engineers are also encouraged to apply
  • Experience with programming and troubleshooting PLC's, Experience with Allen Bradley is a plus! Experience with VFC's is also a plus!
  • Through knowledge of Maintenance jargon, Maintenance Best Practices Knowledge.
  • Thorough knowledge of PLC's. 
  • Proven ability working with contractors for successful use of their needed talents..
  • Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and Production needs.
  • People skills to manage a complex department and get the work done on time using experience and competencies. 
  • Ability to pass required testing

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a variety of environments. Requires standing, bending, lifting as well as sitting. Job requires Physical Stamina to work with team in solving and maintaining equipment problems and installations as needed. Ability to work 8 – 12 hour shifts, sometimes 7 days a week.. Requires eye-hand coordination.  Ability to work in a plant with many needs and various skill levels from mechanical and electrical to electronic and pneumatic, fork lifts and A/C..  Candidates with allergies may not be able to work in the plant.
