Gearharts Moving & Storage is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused Driver & Moving Operations Team Member to join our team. This position combines professional moving services with commercial driving responsibilities, providing an opportunity to work both on the road and alongside a skilled moving crew.
The ideal candidate has experience operating a 26-foot box truck, enjoys physical work, takes pride in providing exceptional customer service, and is committed to safety, professionalism, and teamwork. As the face of our company, you will play a key role in ensuring every move is completed efficiently, safely, and with the highest level of care.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Safely operate 26-foot box trucks for local and in and out of state moves.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safe driving practices.
  • Load and unload household goods, office furniture, and other items while ensuring they are properly protected and secured for transport.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking customer belongings using professional moving techniques.
  • Safely lift, carry, and move heavy furniture, appliances, and boxes as part of a moving team.
  • Properly use moving equipment including dollies, hand trucks, furniture pads, straps, pallet jacks, and forklifts (when applicable).
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, inventory documentation, and delivery records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating professionally and treating customers' belongings with care and respect.
  • Work collaboratively with crew members to complete moves safely and efficiently.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of company vehicles, warehouse areas, and moving equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience driving a 26-foot box truck (Required).
  • Minimum one (1) year of professional moving experience (Required).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL Class A or B is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to safely lift and move 100+ pounds on a regular basis with team assistance when appropriate.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and participate in company-required drug testing in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
