Job description

Build Something From the Ground Up. Lead a Team. Grow Into Leadership.

Square Cow Moovers is launching in the Pinellas County market, backed by an established brand with a proven operating model. We are hiring one Operations Manager (Hands-On Coach) to help build and lead a high-performing team from the ground up.

This is not a traditional Operations role.

This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants more than a job...youโ€™ll have direct ownership of team performance, operations, and customer experience, with a clear path to senior leadership as we grow.
Leading, building and working alongside their team, NOT managing from a desk the majority of the time. This is a physically demanding hands-on leadership role.

Especially in the first 6-12 months, you will:

  • Spend 50โ€“75% of your time in the field on moving jobs
  • Lift, carry, and move furniture with your team daily
  • Work in heat, tight spaces, stairs, and fast-paced environments
  • Lead by exampleโ€”your team will mirror your work ethic

If you are looking for a primarily office-based or observational management role, this is not the right fit.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Most Operations Managers earn between $65,000โ€“$75,000 based on performance
  • Base Salary: $55,000, with additional monthly performance bonuses
  • Monthly performance bonuses, with high-performing managers consistently earning bonuses and top performers earning up to $1,600 per month
  • Schedule: Typically 40โ€“50 hours per week (higher during peak season)
  • Guaranteed Sundays off โ€“ time reserved for rest, family, and personal commitments
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Additional allowances for healthcare and phone expenses

Future Opportunity:
High-performing managers may be eligible for equity participation after 12+ months, offering true ownership in the business.

The Role

This is a leadership-first role, with field involvement to support team performance and maintain high standards. You are both leader and operator.

You will:

  • Lead, develop, and hold movers and drivers accountable to performance standards
  • Ensure job quality, efficiency, and a consistently strong customer experience
  • Identify and solve operational issues before they escalate
  • Manage performance across key metrics (labor efficiency, damage reduction, customer satisfaction, and revenue)
  • Support the team in the field when needed to maintain standards and lead by example

What Success Looks Like

  • A reliable, well-trained team performing at a high level
  • Strong customer reviews and minimal damage claims
  • Efficient labor performance and consistent operational execution
  • A scalable operation that supports business growth

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Ground-floor opportunity in a new market
  • Real ownership of outcomesโ€”not just tasks
  • Fast path to senior leadership
  • Backed by a proven brand
  • Opportunity to earn equity and long-term upside

Qualifications

  • Experience in operations, logistics, or a service-based business
  • Strong leadership and accountability mindset
  • High ownership mentality...no task is beneath you
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to perform physical labor
  • Comfortable working in a physically active, fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the moving industry (highly preferred) OR hands-on industries (construction, landscaping, service, military, athletics, etc.)
  • Valid driverโ€™s license (required)

This Role is NOT a Fit If:

  • You prefer a desk-based work environment
  • You are not comfortable with daily physical labor
  • You prefer observing rather than doing
  • You need a highly structured, fully built-out system

Hiring Process

Candidates should be comfortable completing standard pre-employment screenings, which may include a background check, drug-free workplace screening, motor vehicle record (MVR) check for driving roles, and employment eligibility verification.

If youโ€™re looking for a leadership role where you can build a team, drive results, and grow with a companyโ€”weโ€™d like to hear from you.

Benefits:

  • Paid time off
  • Additional allowances for healthcare and phone expenses
  • Equity Partnership
