Job description:

Be the calm, steady hand that turns moving day chaos into a seamless experience.
If you thrive on bringing order to chaos and love being part of a team that keeps a big day running smoothly, this role may be a fit for you! We're looking for a highly organized, client-focused Move Manager who plays a key hands-on role in a move from the first walkthrough to the final box set down, working closely alongside the rest of the crew to get it right. This job is part hands-on mover, part client advocate, and part problem solver, all backed by a supportive, team-oriented company culture.
In this role, you'll be part of the team handling complex residential and commercial relocations. You'll support clients who are preparing for major life transitionsdownsizing, relocating, aging-in-place, estate settlements, or moving into senior living communities. You'll help people who are downsizing after 40 years in a home, helping parents move into assisted living, settling estates, or relocating for major life changes. Although we work with families of all sizes at all stages of life, our largest client base is seniors who are in transition.
This is not a behind-the-desk coordination job. You'll be on-site working alongside the move crew and vendors, troubleshooting issues the moment they come up, and making sure every move is executed exactly the way it was promised. This is a hands-on position in which you will be working alongside a team to carefully sort, organize, pack and unpack personal belongings based on the client's move plan. Success in this role comes down to meticulous attention to detail, strong teamwork, and the ability to stay calm when a move inevitably throws a curveball.
This is a field-based role serving clients in the Washington, DC-Baltimore Metro area. You'll need to be locally-based, have reliable transportation, be available to work three or more consecutive days per week, and ready to be active and hands-on in fast-paced move environments.
What you'll actually be doing:
  • Execute residential and commercial moves as part of the move team
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients on assigned jobs
  • Work alongside move crews and vendors onsite to carry out the move plan
  • Handle inventory, packing logistics, and special-handling items
  • Coordinate with building management and move-in coordinators to ensure compliance with building requirements onsite
  • Help resolve issues and escalations quickly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate documentation and client records

You may enjoy this role if you:
  • Like being part of a team that keeps a complex day running smoothly
  • Enjoy hands-on work and being on-site rather than behind a desk
  • Take pride in solving problems on the fly
  • Are energized by variety, since no two moves look the same
  • Like building trust with clients during a stressful time in their lives
  • Are comfortable working closely with a team and adapting quickly under pressure
This role may not be for you if:
  • You prefer a predictable, desk-based routine
  • You'd rather avoid physical work or being on your feet for long stretches
  • You get rattled when plans change at the last minute
  • You'd rather work independently than collaborate closely with a team throughout the day
  • A flexible, multi-day schedule doesn't work for you
What it takes to succeed:
  • Grace under pressure: You maintain professionalism and a customer-centered approach even as others around you are frustrated.
  • Hands-on move experience: You have 1-2+ years of experience in move management, relocation coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong teamwork: You work well as part of a crew, communicate clearly with teammates, and pull your weight to help keep the job on schedule.
  • Excellent communication: You communicate clearly with clients, crew members, and vendors, even when something doesn't go as planned.
  • Tech-savvy: You're proficient with move management software and scheduling tools, and comfortable learning new systems.
  • On-the-road readiness: You hold a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation, and can work three or more consecutive days per week.
  • Physical readiness: You're able to work in active, fast-paced move environments, including lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

Nice to have:
  • Experience handling high-value or specialty items, such as art, antiques, or electronics
  • Experience working with older adults
  • Familiarity with the Greater Washington, DC-Baltimore Metro area
  • Bilingual skills

Apply If: You love being part of the team that makes a complicated moving day look effortless, and you take pride in leaving every client, and their new space, better than you found them.
How to Apply:
Applicants are asked to submit a resume and three professional references. Submit your resume and references in a single PDF document. Applicants who do not follow instructions will be disqualified. Given the volume of applicants, we will only be able to respond to those who are selected for an interview.
