PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The SEOC Specialist supports the Security Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) by monitoring, coordinating, and documenting security and emergency-related activities across the district.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Monitors security and emergency operations center (SEOC) systems including cameras, alarms, access control platforms, and other security technologies to maintain awareness of district conditions.
- Receives, documents, and prioritizes incident reports, service requests, and emergency notifications.
- Maintains real-time situational awareness and tracks incidents from initiation through resolution.
- Inputs, updates, and retrieves information within incident management systems, databases, and activity logs.
- Coordinates internal security resources based on established protocols and incident severity.
- Supports emergency operations by maintaining status boards, incident logs, and situational reports.
- Disseminates accurate and timely information to appropriate personnel and leadership during both routine operations and emergencies.
- Assists in the activation and coordination of emergency notifications and alerts when required.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners including school administrators, district leadership, and local emergency responders to ensure unified response and resource alignment.
- Ensures accurate documentation and reporting of incidents in accordance with district procedures.
- Evaluates incident response activities and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in public safety, criminal justice, emergency management, or related field preferred. Experience in security operations, emergency services, operations centers, or similar environments preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

WORK CALENDAR: 12 Months
WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
