Job description

About this Job The Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) performs functions of the state relative to the examination and licensing of operators of motor vehicles, the suspension and revocation of such licenses, issuance of vehicle title and registration certificates, license plates for all motor vehicles operated upon the highways of the state, recordation of liens against vehicles, and the collection of sales/use tax and other appropriate fees, all in accordance with applicable laws. OMV strives to serve the public in a professional, compassionate, and responsive manner while maintaining a high standard of quality and providing unparalleled service to both internal and external customers. This position for a Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 4 serves within the CDL Help Desk Unit at the Headquarters location in Baton Rouge.

Attention to detail, general writing and math skills, and willingness to work and communicate with a small group, as well as aiding other OMV offices or sections and the public, are key to success in this role. The Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) will provide the highest quality service and protection to internal and external customers in an environment that views change as opportunity. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience or training in any field.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Possess knowledge of specialized Office of Motor Vehicles operations Receive and work help desk tickets from AAMVA for issues with Non-CDLIS pointers Work a daily error report from AAMVA Review and process S2S weekly reports, including Go Live Reports for each jurisdiction Review and process the licenses canceled out-of-state report monthly Work CD31 report for S2S pointers to resolve missing or broken pointers Provide support to field offices and other jurisdictions to review and resolve issues with S2S Verification Service Code records appropriately when notified by other agencies Maintain working knowledge of AAMVA publications and specifications Compose and generate correspondence regarding reinstatement of driving and registration privileges using knowledge of Driver's License Laws and Federal Regulations Use independent judgment in resolving problems and explaining options helpful to applicants Maintain the security of driving records according to the Federal Privacy Act Read, comprehend and interpret policies, procedures, manuals, laws, codes and various documents Maintain all materials necessary for performance of office duties Fully understand changes in law enacted by the legislature Compile data and statistical information for written reports as directed Train new and veteran employees on job functions and updates as needed Perform other duties as assigned Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: 4-Year Job Appointment Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Compensation: $32,781 annually Louisiana is a State As a Model Employer (SAME) that supports the recruitment, hiring, and retention of individuals with disabilities
