Job description

ROGERCO (RCI) is looking for a videographer interested in developing compelling material to help our clients tell impactful and cohesive stories. The candidate will work directly on an exciting opportunity with a Department of War (DoW) agency in Dahlgren, VA. As a member of the creative team, this person will work in a highly visible, fast-paced, time-sensitive environment to engage with a wide variety of DoW issues and create compelling messages and video stories. The successful candidate is creative, fast on their feet, and self-driven. Experience working to deliver high quality audio, inlcuding troubleshooting on the fly is a plus! Candidates should have previous experience working with the federal government. This role is in Dahlgren, VA; candidate must be able to work onsite full-time and have an active security clearance.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide videography support for approximately sixteen (16) events annually.
  • Produce and edit all national broadcast quality level videos as well as DVD quality for the organization to include documentaries, human-interest features, news minutes, commercials, sizzle reels, narratives, short-form social media videos, and other promotional and advanced storytelling content.
  • Design and produce national industry-level motion design graphics and illustrations for a variety of video products to include commercials, sizzle reels, social media, films, documentaries, and other promotional and storytelling products.
  • Develop strategy and tactical execution for video production requests.
  • Execute all pre-production, production, and postproduction needs for each project.
  • Pre-production: Develop all scripting, storyboarding, design and logistics – including location and schedule for each video.
  • Production: Provide setup for all video shoots, including all audio-visual needs – capturing all footage and b-roll.
  • Experience working to deliver high quality audio, inlcuding troubleshooting on the fly is highly desired!
  • Postproduction: Includes all editing (rough cut, fine cut and final cut) along with voice over, music, animations and graphics.
  • Prepare all videos for their final files – including MP4, MPEG, Windows Media, Real Media, and raw AVI).
  • Catalog and tag all videos and maintain an organized database of all b-roll/final files that are easily accessible.
  • Assist with art direction and editing.
  • Some travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Location: Dahlgren, VA
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, communications, graphic design, or animation OR three (3) years related experience in the organizing, writing, storyboarding, shooting, editing, lighting, and producing audio visual projects, podcasts, and slide shows with sound accompaniments.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Minimum Secret clearance required OR must be eligible to apply and be granted interim DoD interim clearance prior to employment.
  • Experience in the organizing, writing, storyboarding, shooting, editing, lighting, and producing audio visual projects, pod casts, and slide shows with sound accompaniments with a knowledge of the equipment, techniques, and processes of photography, lighting techniques, and digital reproduction techniques.
  • Requires a working knowledge of Nonlinear Editing Systems, Adobe Creative Cloud Production Premium, Microsoft Office Professional, AVS Video Converter, and Snagit10 screen capture software.
  • Experience with planning and managing video shoots – including understanding and executing appropriate audio and lighting needs.
  • You understand that requests for video production happen in an instant and need near immediate action – you thrive on that fast-paced atmosphere and work well under tight timelines.
  • Knowledge of equipment, techniques, and processes of photography, lighting techniques, and digital reproduction techniques.
