Job description

NOVA Parks is seeking a DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST to join our team. In this role, develop and implement online and social media campaigns to support events, programs and attractions across 37 regional parks. As a daily publisher of content and administrator of all agency accounts, this position will implement a digital content calendar to plan, develop, and execute timely marketing campaigns across multiple online channels.

You’ll be successful in this position if you are an experienced digital content creator across multiple platforms with strong attention to detail and organization skills, including ability to prioritize, communicate, and multitask while working efficiently under pressure. Hiring Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and Publish Digital Content:

  • Perform day-to-day management of social channels, including curating post ideas, copywriting, publishing, managing, and maintaining platforms.
  • Create and coordinate e-blasts, digital newsletters, and announcements, and deliver to pre-determined lists.
  • Write, edit, and proofread copy for social media and other digital channels (including website) as needed.
  • Monitor social channels, provide customer support, respond to inquiries, and work with the respective internal departments to ensure customers receive accurate and timely information.
  • Provide website maintenance including content changes, calendar listings, and corrections.

Track and Report Campaign Effectiveness:

  • Track and review key metrics, present findings, and provide strategy recommendations and campaign optimization suggestions to internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track performance metrics, goals, and KPIs using social media management tools, such as Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and others.

Collaborate and Innovate:

  • Develop and execute creative strategy for new and existing social media channels.
  • Collaborate with Visual Communications Specialist to develop visuals for digital channels (cover images, ads, landing pages, newsletter graphics, website photos, social graphics, etc.).
  • Coordinate with the web vendor to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements.
  • Provide innovative ideas for campaigns and initiatives based on best practices.
  • Participate in brainstorming and content ideation sessions.

Build the NOVA Parks Brand:

  • Manage the online reputation of NOVA Parks by monitoring positive and negative feedback to identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the agency.
  • Manage and evolve NOVA Parks’ brand, presence, and voice on social media and online.
  • Identify opportunities to grow channels with new external audiences and engage with these audiences on social media.
  • Identify partnership opportunities with social media influencers. Conduct outreach to foster positive relationships via social media and to build network of partners and potential partners.

Develop and Share Resources:

  • Communicate platform best practices and provide appropriate training to publishers within the organization (as needed or as requested). Provide strategic and tactical counsel to staff as needed.
  • Maintain proficiency and up-to-date knowledge in latest social media trends, tools, platforms, technologies, and best practices (new tools, algorithm changes, platform enhancements, etc.)
  • Research competitive and industry best practices and share recommendations with leadership about social platforms, trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (minimum)

Education: Graduation from an accredited college/university with a bachelor's degree in digital communications, marketing, related degree, or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Three years of experience in social media, videography, or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience which provides:

  • Working knowledge of enterprise-level social media management tools, such as HootSuite, Sprout Social, and Meta Business Suite.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing brands on social media, especially Instagram, Facebook, and X.
  • Professional experience with content management systems, such as Drupal or WordPress.
  • Knowledge of video production and editing.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, social media campaigns, and effective social media marketing.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices used in marketing and promotions.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Desktop Publishing, and video editing.
  • Ability to carry out NOVA Parks goals and objectives through planned work projects and programs.
  • Ability to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of NOVA Parks, its history, traditions, and policies.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends to ensure timely social media presence and web updates.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Video production experience
