Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients to determine the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, utilizing established assessment tools and clinical interviews.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, taking into account their specific goals, preferences, and challenges.
  • Implement a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.
  • Provide education and ongoing support to clients and their families on managing mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
  • Continuously monitor and track client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on individual responses to therapy.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and achieve better patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor within our organization, you will primarily work with individuals experiencing mood disorders, encompassing conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. Our clients come from various backgrounds, and our goal is to provide personalized and culturally competent care tailored to their unique needs.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Arizona.
  • Proficient understanding of psychopharmacology to facilitate effective collaboration with psychiatrists and other medical professionals.
