Description

  • Operate Machinery: Set up, operate, clean, and monitor production machines and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
  • Inspect Products: Conduct regular inspections of products and materials to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve operational issues and report major problems to the supervisor.
  • Maintain Records: Accurately record production data, including quantities produced, downtime, and any issues encountered. Complete required documentation related to production runs, including production logs, inspection reports, and incident/accident reports.
  • Adhere to Safety Procedures: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
  • Clean and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Support Team: Assist with the training of new staff and collaborate with team members to meet production goals. Build positive relationships with Company staff members; share information with appropriate parties; willingly cooperate with others and carries him/herself in an appropriate manner maintaining courteous and effective interactions and communication with other employees. 
  • Handle Materials: Properly handle and store raw materials and finished products, ensuring they are organized and correctly labeled.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures.
  • Organize, prioritize and complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner. 
  • Exercise effective problem solving techniques, engage in effective conflict resolution, and make timely decisions based upon logical conclusions of factual information.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and recording production data.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment, ability to develop and implement complex procedures from general instructions and to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred 
  • Willingness and ability to work a 12 hour shift schedule with evening/weekend work (Week 1:M/T/F/Sa, Week 2: Su/W/TH).

Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses

  • Band 1
  • Education Required - High school graduate or equivalent preferred

Typical Physical and Mental Demands/Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing facility and occasionally seated in an office. May involve working under deadlines. Requires: broad range of physical and mental activities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position: 

  • You will be required to stand for 5.5+ hrs./day, walk for 5+ hrs./day, sit for 1+ hr./day, drive a forklift for 0.5+ hrs./day, constant overhead reach, forward reach, climb, bend, kneel, squat, stoop, use manual dexterity, maintain physical endurance, attention to detail, communication, and adaptability while engaging in repetitive motion, use visual acuity, memory/recall, frequent push/pull with arms or legs, lifting/carrying of 5-51+ lbs., twist, wear protective equipment, problem-solve, and use color vision. Tools and machinery used include saws (table, panel, and miter arm), extruders, grinders, manual and power hand tools, overhead lift equipment, micrometers, tape measure, scales, air hoses, calculators, and computers. Work is conducted in environments with extreme temperatures exceeding 100F in summer months.
