Field Superintendent - Modernization
Your main responsibilities

As a Field Superintendent of Modernization (MOD), you will oversee elevator modernization projects, managing field technicians and multiple projects to meet customer and company standards for safety, schedule adherence, quality, and cost management. Support area and company objectives through effective project oversight, procurement, and employee management.

Operations Management
   Lead and manage field technicians, overseeing multiple projects to ensure adherence to schedule, budget, and safety standards.
   Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, and field logistics to maintain smooth operations and timely project completion.
   Track project progress and labor allocation to maximize efficiency and profitability.
   Collaborate with sales, engineering, project management, and service teams to deliver high-quality results.
   Manage project documentation including invoicing, change orders, and financial forecasting.
   Maintain positive relationships with union representatives and support staffing needs including hiring and disciplinary actions.

Quality and Safety
   Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards to protect both staff and the public.
   Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to promote safe working environments.

Employee development, planning & logistics
   Provide coaching, training, and support to technicians to build skills and improve team performance.
   Organize scheduling, material ordering, and coordination of inspections to optimize project workflows.
   Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages transparency, trust, and effective communication.

Collaboration
   Serve as the primary contact for customers, vendors, and internal teams, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
   Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of modernization projects.
   Communicate effectively with union leadership and internal stakeholders to maintain respectful and productive relationships.

Problem Solving 
    Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and customer to investigate, resolve and address any operational challenges that may arise. 

What you will learn

What you bring

   5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred
   Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant work experience in the elevator industry or related field
   Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive employee relations with proven leadership skills 
   Proficiency in MS Office suite 
   Strong organizational skills and experience managing tradespeople
   Flexibility to be on-call as needed 
   Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
   Prior Project Management skills preferred
