We are currently seeking an Senior IAM Project Manager. Prefers candidates who can work in a hybrid capacity in Frankfort, Kentucky, although qualified remote candidates may also be considered.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior IAM Project Manager to lead enterprise technology transformation and modernization initiatives, including the implementation of a new Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution.
This role will oversee the full project lifecycle, working closely with technical teams, engineering resources, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to established requirements.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical project/program management experience with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, identity security, authentication, access controls, and IAM integrations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex technology transformation and Identity and Access Management initiatives from planning through implementation and project closeout.
  • Support modernization initiatives involving identity lifecycle management, Zero Trust architecture, secure access, and enterprise authentication.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, resource plans, and execution roadmaps.
  • Establish project management processes, objectives, key results (OKRs), and delivery standards.
  • Lead migrations from legacy technologies and platforms to modern identity and access solutions.
  • Coordinate technical and business teams throughout requirements gathering, design, testing, implementation, cutover, and post-launch activities.
  • Lead workshops and stakeholder meetings and obtain required business and technical approvals.
  • Manage technical resources, including engineers, consultants, product teams, and other project stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and roadblocks and develop appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, risk logs, decision logs, and other project artifacts.
  • Provide regular project updates to executive leadership, technical stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Develop and execute communication and change-management plans for major technology and infrastructure transitions.
  • Ensure projects follow established industry standards, security practices, and project management methodologies.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and identify opportunities to improve future project delivery.
  • Translate business processes and requirements into technical project activities and implementation plans.
  • Partner with technical stakeholders across infrastructure, security, engineering, product, and support teams.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in technical project management, program management, or related technology leadership roles.
  • Strong technical expertise with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) implementations and integrations.
  • Experience designing or managing:
    • User provisioning and deprovisioning workflows
    • Identity integrations
    • Authentication solutions
    • Role- and policy-based access controls
    • Enterprise identity lifecycle processes
  • Strong understanding of identity security principles and enterprise authentication models.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring technical engineering and/or product teams.
  • Strong project planning, execution, risk management, issue management, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience managing medium- to large-scale technology migrations or modernization initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both engineers and executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with identity standards and protocols such as:
    • SAML

  • Knowledge of authorization models such as Fine-Grained Authorization (FGA).
