Job description

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

This position drive a truck or automobile over established routes to deliver products to other office locations and to client sites by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Drives truck to deliver such items as copiers, printers, paper, shredders, and various other office equipment and products to client’s place of business and between the branch offices.
  2. Completes basic set-up & installation at client’s office including basic operator training. (Installation includes attaching finishers or side LCT trays. Training entails basic copy functions from the MFD—not connected solutions).
  3. Communicates with clients on the day of delivery to set approximate delivery time, and notifies the appropriate sales representative when delivery is complete.
  4. Coordinates any networked deliveries arrival times with the staff assigned to limit down time, and provide a professional delivery & installation experience.
  5. Updates set-up & delivery manager on any problem deliveries, and verifies ownership before picking up any equipment not listed on paperwork.
  6. Operates stair climber as required to move equipment up or down stairs.
  7. Listens to and directs service complaints to appropriate party.
  8. Loads truck in accordance with guidelines to insure equipment will arrive at client’s office intact and in good working order.
  9. Records delivery & pick-up information on daily delivery record. (Including the appropriate start & ending meter reads or meter print outs)
  10. Issues or obtains client signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
  11. Performs routine maintenance on truck, and keeps the truck clean inside & out.
  12. Assists in warehouse as needed pulling hardware or supply orders, or with physical inventory.
  13. Assist with PWT Filter calls as requested.
  14. Assist in Meter collection as requested.
  15. Other miscellaneous duties as requested.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Two people or forklift required for over 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

TRAVEL

Significant travel is expected for this position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Current driver's license.
  2. Access to vehicle for job travel between company branches and client sites.
  3. Valid certificate of insurance with the minimum liability requirements set forth by the company.
  4. Forklift certification required.
