Job description

SALARY:

$16.91 - $21.14 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction provides customer service by greeting customers, answering multi-line telephone, taking messages and responding to customer inquiries.

THIS POSITION IS FOR CANDIDATES WITHOUT A DRIVER'S LICENSE.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide customer service by accessing patron information, receiving money, and assisting with customer inquiries regarding programming or facility usage.
  • Perform facility maintenance and setup and respond to issues in the facility such as cleanliness or other issues.
  • Ability to negotiate patron account information, apply policies and procedures, perform standard data entry tasks, and coordination and scheduling of programs.
  • Respond to multiple demands for information from the public and adjust to change with respect to the subject matter or informational need expressed in the user's inquiry.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with various vendors, outside agencies and other department to accommodate needs for facility access, program information, or facility orientation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of modern office methods, practices and equipment.
  • Knowledge of facility management to ensure a safe and productive experience for users and customers.
  • Skill in operating a multi-line telephone.
  • Ability to learn and apply computer skills to register customers, authorize refunds and account for site revenues.
  • Ability to apply appropriate interpersonal skills with the public and city staff to maintain positive relations.
  • Ability to maintain the cleanliness and safe condition of the work site.
  • Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including but not limited to seeing, sorting and typing.
  • Ability to lift or exert forces equivalent to lifting 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including a personal computer, fax machine, telephone, calculator, etc.


Qualifying Education and Experience:

High school education and a minimum of six months related clerical/customer service experience.
