Job description

The Role

Modern Health is looking for a Program Manager to drive how our Product & Tech organization plans, executes, and ships. You'll program-manage initiatives that span Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and their cross-functional counterparts - bringing structure, clarity, and follow-through to work that is often ambiguous and fast-moving. You'll also drive a more effective, efficient, high-impact Product & Tech organization by owning improvements to alignment, communications, and processes between Product & Tech teams and the rest of the business.

This is a role for a builder in the earlier chapters of their program management career: you'll own meaningful workstreams and initiatives with full accountability and autonomy from day one, exercising independent judgment while partnering with experienced program leadership on the most complex, strategic decisions. Strong performers will grow toward leading Modern Health's largest, most strategic programs end-to-end.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Hawaii.

What You'll Do
  • Program-manage product and technical initiatives - drive cross-team execution from scoping through launch and post-launch follow-through, across Product, Engineering, Design, and Data
  • Own program delivery - build and own project plans, map dependencies across teams, independently assess and mitigate risks and issues, and keep initiatives on a predictable timeline
  • Translate needs into crisp requirements - turn vague business, clinical, or partner requests into clear, actionable requirements and decisions that product and engineering teams can build against
  • Run Product & Tech operating rhythms - lead quarterly planning, goal setting, roadmap reviews, and launch readiness and communications
  • Strengthen feedback loops - own and improve alignment, communication, and processes between Product & Tech teams and their cross-functional counterparts
  • Drive data-informed decisions - evaluate the performance and impact of major initiatives and prepare and deliver clear, concise recommendations to leadership
  • Own core tooling - determine, administer, and improve the operational tooling and systems (project trackers, documentation, dashboards) that give the org visibility and leverage
  • Finish the job - ensure initiatives don't just launch, but reach long-term optimization and post-launch learnings
Who You Are / Requirements
  • An emerging business athlete - organized, adaptable, and energized by using independent judgment to turn partially defined problems into clear plans, priorities, and decisions
  • 3+ years of experience in program management, project management, or operations in a complex, cross-functional environment
  • Strong program management fundamentals - planning, sequencing, milestone and dependency tracking, and risk management, with exceptional attention to detail
  • A documentation and systems thinker - you naturally reach for playbooks, templates, and repeatable processes instead of doing the same manual task 100 times
  • A clear communicator - you give stakeholders proactive visibility into your work, run effective meetings, and capture decisions and action items so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and biased toward action - you ask sharp questions, propose solutions rather than waiting for instructions, and know when to escalate
  • Comfortable with the technical side of the house - you don't need to code, but product development lifecycles, integrations, APIs, and data aren't a black box to you
  • Collaborative, with high empathy and high accountability - you support your teammates, give and receive direct feedback, and hold yourself to a high bar
  • Growth-minded - you actively seek feedback and are excited to grow toward leading larger, more complex programs end-to-end
  • Deeply motivated by Modern Health's mission and passionate about enabling better mental health outcomes at scale
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be able to maintain work authorization for the duration of employment without employer sponsorship or employer-provided training plans or attestations (including, for example, the Form I-983 required for STEM OPT).
Bonus Points
  • Experience in digital health or working with health-related products, services, or partnerships
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or similarly dynamic environment where building while flying is the norm
  • Familiarity with modern product & engineering tools - e.g., Jira or Linear, Confluence or Notion, analytics and dashboarding tools
