Job description

Job Summary
Our BIM Model Specialist, manages BIM models for multi-trade collaboration efforts. Has a strong understanding of how a BIM project evolves from concept through construction and how the different discipline designs interact throughout the life cycle of the project. Using BIM tools, collaborates and coordinates with other project team members to resolves issues. Responsible for providing BIM execution plan documentation, BIM project kick-off meetings, project model setup, clash detection setup, and client deliverable coordination.
Essential Duties
TRADE COORDINATION/FACILITATION
  • Receives and managing multiple subcontractor models.
  • Manages all BIM logistics (Contracts, Emails, File sharing, etc.).
  • Creates, maintains, and analyzes a federated model mainly for coordination purposes.
  • Reviews and documents design document and coordination conflicts.
  • Runs and analyzes the clash detection on the federated model.
  • Communicates conflicts in model; both real and potential.
  • Prepares and distributes clash reports to facilitate the coordination process.
  • Schedules and facilitates coordination meetings along with Project Manager and/or
    Superintendent.
  • Determines where meetings will be held and verifies that appropriate equipment is available to facilitate meetings effectively.
  • Prepares reports to capture details discussed in meetings and documents best practices.
  • Facilitates subcontractor communications in and out of meetings.
  • Facilitates sign off and submittal of coordinated areas.
  • Meets with Designers/Owners as required to facilitate review of models as needed.

FIELD COORDINATION/FACILITATION
  • Assists the project team with construction coordination and scheduling
  • Provides field subcontractors with the most current coordinated information
  • Works with the field staff to understand how they work and what information they need
  • Facilitates Foreman model review meetings
  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Requirements
  • 0-2 years of experience as a BIM Model Specialist, or related field
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field is preferred
  • Required: working knowledge of current design software such as AutoDesk, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and Revit.
  • Strong computer, technical and communication skills are essential and required
  • Excellent organization and documentation skills
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
