Job description

The SS Coordinator, under direct supervision of the Clinical Lead, is responsible for surgical scheduling for multiple surgeons. Ensures all parties involved in the surgical case have the appropriate information (patient, surgeon, MOC, anesthesia, etc). Frequent contact, coordination and communication with all parties involved in surgical case. Maximizes resources by eliminating gaps in OR schedule; makes recommendations/changes to fully utilize surgical time that will have a significant financial impact on surgical revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Schedules surgeries in a timely
  2. Manages the function of resources/efficiencies/utilization/operations.
  3. Coordinates/communicates with patient, surgeon, MOC and financial clearance all necessary information to ensure the scheduled cases are completed.
  4. Communicates with patient all tests and appointments related to surgical procedures. (i.e. CT scan, pre-op appointments).
  5. Relays information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests, examinations, and procedures.
  6. Assures all patient correspondence (consent, orders, history, and physical, etc.) is transmitted to correct areas in a timely manner to streamline patient processing.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Specialty Care Networks’ salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
