Job description

Overview

We're looking for a mobile engineer to build and extend the React Native application for LIGER, an enterprise AI platform that connects knowledge, systems, and agentic workflows to accelerate outcomes across federal missions. You'll join a small, cross-functional team shipping a ground-up product redesign, picking up an in-flight build and owning the mobile surface end-to-end.

This isn't a maintain-the-backlog role. You'll own features end-to-end, translate desktop patterns to mobile without a designer in the loop, and help shape the mobile architecture as LIGER's agentic capabilities expand. If you can move fast without heavy specs, have a real design sensibility, and want to ship work that federal users depend on, keep reading.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Build and ship features across the mobile stack using React Native and TypeScript
  • Write native iOS and Android modules in Swift and Kotlin when deeper platform integration is required
  • Design and implement mobile architecture across authentication, state management, navigation, and offline data sync
  • Translate desktop UI patterns to mobile using your own design sensibility, without a Figma to follow
  • Integrate with backend APIs, OAuth2 / OpenID authentication, and cloud-hosted services
  • Troubleshoot issues across the full request chain from mobile client to backend systems
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing, and secure mobile development practices
  • Use AI coding tools as a daily part of your development workflow
Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years building and shipping production mobile applications
  • Strong experience with React Native and TypeScript, not just React
  • Comfort writing native modules in Swift and Kotlin when needed
  • Experience deploying to both iOS and Android app stores
  • Experience integrating mobile apps with REST APIs and authentication systems
  • A real design sensibility: you can take a desktop pattern and translate it to mobile without a designer in the loop
  • Ability to move fast and iterate without heavy specs or detailed tickets
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Active use of AI-assisted development tools in your day-to-day coding workflow
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and how AI capabilities can be integrated into mobile applications

What Will Set You Apart

  • A portfolio link, side projects, personal apps, or open-source contributions that show your design sensibility and what you've shipped
  • Active secret security clearance
  • Experience working in government, defense, or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with mobile security practices and OAuth2 / OpenID authentication
  • Experience integrating with cloud-hosted backends (AWS, Azure, GovCloud)
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) or secure deployment strategies
  • Experience implementing mobile telemetry and observability, including instrumentation of user events, performance metrics, and error tracking
  • Experience designing event taxonomies and instrumentation strategies for product analytics and application monitoring
  • Experience implementing automated mobile testing frameworks
  • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or agentic patterns integrated into mobile contexts

Target salary range: $100,000 - 170,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
