Job description

General Responsibilities Summary Under the direction of the Outreach Manager, the Mobile Library Branch (Rover) Manager leads and oversees outreach services, bringing library resources, programs, and technology into the community. This role manages the mobile branch, strengthens partnerships, and creates engaging learning opportunities for all ages. Essential Functions Key Responsibilities Lead and manage mobile library operations, including scheduling, staffing, and service delivery Plan and present programs such as storytimes, STEAM activities, technology classes, and community presentations Operate outreach vehicles and ensure proper maintenance, documentation, and reporting Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local groups Develop strategies to increase awareness and use of mobile library services Provide excellent customer service and connect patrons with library resources Track statistics and evaluate service effectiveness to improve outreach impact Collaborate with library staff and serve as part of the management team Minimum Qualifications Qualifications Ability to safely operate library vehicles (Chauffeur's License preferred) Strong technology skills and ability to teach digital resources Experience working with diverse age groups and communities Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage staff and priorities Willingness to travel regularly and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Education & Experience Master's degree in Library Science (ALA-accredited) with 10 years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree with 15 years of related experience; OR Equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in outreach, programming, or community engagement preferred Application Requirements To Apply for this Position: Send cover letter and resume to jobs@nlrlibrary.org
