FECON, LLC is a vegetation management equipment manufacturer located in Lebanon, Ohio near Kings Island Amusement Park. We design, build, test, sell and service our equipment consisting of products such as our well-known "Bull Hog" mulchers, the Stump Ex, our high-quality FTX tractors of varying horsepower, as well as many other attachments. Job Summary:
The Test Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans to ensure product performance, reliability, and quality. This role collaborates closely with Design Engineering, R&D, Product Management, and Operations to identify validation, resource, and timeline requirements. The Test Engineer also analyzes test data, documents results, and recommends continuous improvement to enhance the product and processes.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and customers to define product performance expectations and validation requirements.
  • Establishes project goals, priorities, and test requirements through collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, and Sales.
  • Develops product and component test and validation plans
  • Coordinates and oversees product testing and validation with support from Engineering and R&D.
  • Generates test reports for internal and/or external review
  • Develops, maintains, and documents all related testing policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Researches, designs, and evaluates materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment required to support product testing and validation activities.
  • Serves as a technical resource to the product development team.
  • Performs site visits, customer visits, and field/product testing as required.
  • Responsible for managing project-related testing costs and resource requirements.
  • Monitors team metrics and objectives to ensure achievement of departmental and project goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project leadership and managerial skills
  • Ability to communicate well with others.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural, or related Engineering discipline required.
  • 2+ years of experience in product testing, validation, development, or related engineering roles.
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems preferred.
  • Hands-on experience operating forestry, construction, agricultural, or similar heavy equipment preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility.
  • Ability to Travel up to 10% of the time.
