This role ensures the secure deployment, management, and operation of mobile technologies-such as smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices-across enterprise and mission systems. The SME provides technical guidance on mobile threat protection, encryption, secure communications, mobile device management (MDM), and compliance with federal cybersecurity policies and frameworks.Develops and implement enterprise-level mobile security strategies and policies that align with organizational goals and federal standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-124, NIST SP 800-53, FIPS).Serves as a key advisor on secure mobile device usage, mobile application vetting, and mobile threat defense.Designs and validate secure architectures for mobile device deployments, including containerization, encryption, remote wipe, and endpoint protection.Evaluates and configure Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, or MobileIron.Analyzes and assess mobile security vulnerabilities, threats, and exploits; lead the response and remediation strategy for mobile-related incidents.Conducts security reviews of mobile applications, OS configurations, Bluetooth/NFC settings, and mobile communications protocols.Ensures mobile deployments adhere to compliance requirements including Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), EO 14028, FedRAMP, RMF, and organizational mobile use policies.Integrates mobile device telemetry and logs into continuous monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, endpoint analytics) for ongoing risk visibility.Provides training and guidance to ISSOs, system owners, and users on secure mobile device usage and best practices.Participates in cybersecurity governance meetings, contributing mobile-specific expertise to enterprise risk management decisions.Works with IT, GRC, and Security Engineering teams to support secure mobile access for remote work, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), and sensitive systems.
