About the Enterprise Mobile Engineering Team
The Enterprise Mobile Engineering team delivers secure, scalable, and user-centric mobile experiences that enable colleagues to work productively across personal and company-managed endpoints. The team is responsible for the strategy, engineering, operations, and continuous modernization of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Company Managed Device (CMD) services, along with the full-stack applications and integrations that support enterprise mobile capabilities.
This role will lead infrastructure engineering and application engineering teams responsible for mobile platform services, mobile application experiences, identity and access integrations, secure endpoint capabilities, operational reliability, and executive-level delivery across a complex enterprise technology environment.
Responsibilities
As the Director, Infrastructure Engineering - Enterprise Mobile, you will define and lead the strategic vision, engineering roadmap, design, implementation, and operational excellence of enterprise mobile platforms and applications across BYOD and CMD. This role requires cross-functional collaboration across security, architecture, endpoint engineering, identity, network, application, SRE, risk, privacy, product, and business teams to deliver resilient, compliant, scalable, and colleague-friendly mobile capabilities.
  • Lead the Enterprise Mobile Engineering organization responsible for BYOD and CMD services, mobile platform engineering, and full-stack application delivery, with a strong focus on colleague experience, security, reliability, and service maturity.
  • Define and execute the enterprise mobile strategy, roadmap, OKRs, and key results across device enrollment, lifecycle management, secure access, application enablement, compliance, telemetry, and operational support.
  • Oversee engineering delivery for mobile device management and endpoint capabilities, including policy design, configuration management, secure app distribution, identity integration, certificate services, conditional access partnerships, and platform modernization.
  • Lead a full-stack application engineering team that builds and maintains mobile-enablement applications, slack applications, Teams application, CICD workflows, admin portals, automation services, APIs, integrations, reporting capabilities, and operational workflows supporting enterprise mobile and application services.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, architecture, risk, privacy, legal, and compliance teams to ensure BYOD and CMD platforms meet enterprise security, data protection, regulatory, audit, resiliency, and operational risk expectations.
  • Drive modernization of mobile platform architecture, automation, observability, and SRE practices to improve reliability, reduce manual operations, strengthen incident response, and accelerate delivery of secure mobile capabilities.
  • Collaborate with product, business, technology, and operations leaders to translate customer and colleague needs into platform capabilities, service enhancements, standards, and adoption plans.
  • Provide executive oversight for critical incidents, service health, vulnerability remediation, root cause analysis, problem management, and preventative actions across enterprise mobile platforms and applications.
  • Manage vendor, platform, and technology evaluation processes for mobile infrastructure, endpoint tools, application services, and integration patterns, ensuring recommendations align with customer needs and enterprise roadmap priorities.
  • Establish engineering standards for secure software development, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, test automation, release management, monitoring, documentation, and production readiness across mobile infrastructure and full-stack applications.
  • Produce and present recurring executive-level reports, platform health insights, adoption trends, risk posture updates, and delivery progress to inform senior leadership decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach senior engineers, managers, and cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engineering excellence, inclusion, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to support talent acquisition, succession planning, retention, and development strategies that attract and grow top engineering talent.
  • Direct high-impact initiatives within budget and schedule, ensuring dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions are tracked, communicated, and resolved effectively while maintaining a high standard for technical design and compliance.
  • Champion the responsible use of AI, automation, and analytics to improve mobile operations, engineering productivity, service reliability, risk detection, colleague support, and production readiness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including significant experience leading infrastructure engineering, endpoint engineering, mobile platform, or enterprise application teams at scale.
  • 8+ years of experience leading large engineering teams, managers, or cross-functional programs responsible for highly reliable, secure, and enterprise-grade technology platforms.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise mobile ecosystems, including BYOD and company-managed device operating models, mobile device management, mobile application management, secure access, app distribution, enrollment, compliance, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting distinct corporate-managed mobile use cases, including cellular-enabled phones and tablets for executive and sales personas, including vendor procurement and lifecycle coordination. Additionally, kiosk-managed mobile solutions for Service IT and concierge center operations.
  • Experience operating or integrating enterprise mobility platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise, or comparable endpoint and mobile management capabilities.
  • Experience leading full-stack application teams delivering web, mobile, API, graph api, slack app, Teams app, translation layers, integration consultation, automation system/tools, reporting, data analytics, or workflow capabilities using modern engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management, certificates, authentication, conditional access patterns, endpoint security, data protection, vulnerability management, privacy, and regulatory control expectations in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience with DevOps and modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, monitoring, observability, release management, incident management, and production readiness.
  • Experience collaborating with cyber security, architecture, SRE, product, operations, risk, audit, and executive stakeholders to align engineering outcomes with enterprise goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, resolve complex technology issues, and drive decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent executive communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, communicate risk and tradeoffs clearly, and build trusted partnerships across business and technology teams.
  • Experience with AI-enabled engineering transformation, operational automation, telemetry, and analytics is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud, security, endpoint management, mobile platforms, IT service management, or agile delivery are a plus.
